Key Responsibilities

Your role will demand a blend of technical precision, leadership, and strategic thinking. Key responsibilities include:

• Technical Execution and Safety Leadership: Adhere to stringent safety protocols, conduct pre-site inspections, and ensure compliance with FLSmidth and client-specific standards. Coordinate with stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and access, while overseeing the execution of installation, commissioning, and performance testing activities.
• Project Oversight and Reporting: Independently supervise site activities, ensuring adherence to technical manuals, drawings, and standardized operating procedures (SOPs). Prepare comprehensive reports, including no-load and load trial protocols, commissioning reports, and performance test documentation, while capturing meeting minutes for client approval.
• Strategic Collaboration and Business Development: Work closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical challenges and identify opportunities for aftermarket services. Leverage your expertise to generate leads, expand our service portfolio, and contribute to the growth of our mining solutions business.
• Mentorship and Continuous Improvement: Support senior service managers on-site, mentor junior team members, and drive innovation in site execution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including GPLM and RPLM, to troubleshoot and resolve product-related issues with agility and creativity.
• Global Mobility and Adaptability: Embrace the challenge of extensive travel, with approximately 200–250 days spent on-site annually across Middle Eastern countries. Adapt swiftly to diverse operational environments, cultural contexts, and technical demands while maintaining high standards of professionalism.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer with a proven track record in mechanical engineering and a passion for delivering exceptional results. Ideal candidates will possess:

• Technical Expertise: A Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 7–10 years of hands-on experience in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mining and metallurgical equipment. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, IOM manuals, and technical specifications.
• Leadership and Influence: A proactive, innovative mindset with the ability to make swift, decisive decisions under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills, discipline, and the capacity to inspire and lead teams in dynamic environments.
• Communication and Collaboration: Fluent English proficiency, both written and spoken, to facilitate seamless coordination with clients, consultants, and internal teams. Exceptional communication skills to present technical concepts clearly and persuasively.
• Operational Agility: Practical knowledge of erection techniques, safe lifting methods, and tool optimization. Familiarity with project management tools like MS Project and proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Business Acumen: A forward-thinking approach to identifying business opportunities and driving aftermarket growth. The ability to analyze client needs and propose value-added solutions that strengthen long-term partnerships.
