Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Advisor, your expertise will be instrumental in shaping AbbVie’s medical and commercial strategies within the oncology therapeutic area. Your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Medical Leadership: Act as a key member of the oncology brand team, providing medical and scientific input to support strategic initiatives, marketing plans, and commercial objectives. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that medical affairs align seamlessly with business goals while maintaining functional independence.
• Expert Medical Advocacy: Deliver authoritative medical and scientific advice to healthcare professionals, external experts, and key opinion leaders (KOLs) regarding AbbVie’s oncology products. Engage in scientific exchanges, advisory boards, and roundtable discussions to foster credible relationships with academic centers and thought leaders.
• Scientific Excellence and Knowledge Development: Maintain and expand your expertise in oncology by actively participating in internal training sessions, attending prestigious medical congresses, and staying abreast of the latest national and international literature. Develop comprehensive summaries of key scientific findings and emerging trends to inform AbbVie’s strategic decision-making.
• Medical Education and Training: Design and deliver impactful scientific presentations and educational programs for healthcare professionals, ensuring that medical information is accurate, balanced, and compliant with regulatory standards. Develop and update training materials to support sales teams and internal departments.
• Clinical Research and Evidence Generation: Lead and oversee clinical research projects, including Phase IV studies, post-marketing observational studies (PMOS), registries, and epidemiological surveys. Collaborate with the Clinical Research Department to review study protocols, identify potential investigators, and conduct feasibility assessments.
• Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure that all medical communications, promotional materials, and non-promotional content adhere to AbbVie’s internal policies, local regulations, and ethical guidelines. Maintain rigorous compliance with national and international laws governing medical affairs and pharmaceutical communications.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, medical affairs, and commercial teams to integrate medical insights into pricing, reimbursement strategies, and health economics outcomes research (HEOR) initiatives. Contribute to the development of medical information packs, clinical expert reviews, and other critical dossiers.
