In this critical leadership position, you will be responsible for leading our financial close processes, maintaining robust internal controls, and ensuring seamless compliance with an array of regulatory frameworks. Your expertise will be instrumental in strengthening our financial governance, enhancing operational efficiency, and fostering transparency across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of financial oversight, including:

• Financial Closing & Reporting: Lead the monthly and annual financial close, ensuring accuracy in general ledger reviews, accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and the preparation of comprehensive financial reports that align with global best practices.
• Accounts Receivable & Payable Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of receivables and payables, from invoicing and collections to aging analysis, receipt allocation, and vendor reconciliations. Implement robust controls to optimize cash flow and minimize risks.
• Treasury & Cash Flow Optimization: Manage treasury operations, including cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, payment controls, and project-related banking activities. Ensure timely execution of bank guarantees and adherence to liquidity management strategies.
• Project Financial Governance: Track project costs and budgets meticulously, support revenue recognition processes, and monitor retentions and variations. Conduct in-depth budget-versus-actual analysis to identify trends and opportunities for financial improvement.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare monthly management schedules covering receivables, payables, cash flow, project costs, and balance sheet accounts. Ensure strict compliance with IFRS standards, Saudi VAT regulations, Zakat/tax obligations, ZATCA e-invoicing requirements, GOSI, WPS, and payroll compliance. Timely submission of statutory returns is non-negotiable.
• Internal Controls & Audit Readiness: Strengthen internal controls, approval workflows, segregation of duties, and documentation standards. Enhance audit readiness by ensuring all journals, intercompany transactions, accruals, and reconciliations are accurate, complete, and defensible.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the financial liaison between accounting, project teams, commercial/QS departments, HR, auditors, banks, and government authorities. Facilitate seamless communication to support financial operations, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
• Team Leadership & Process Improvement: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, reviewing deliverables and providing guidance to foster a culture of excellence. Drive ERP system optimization and continuous process improvement to elevate operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. Advanced certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or CFA) are a significant advantage.
• Technical & Analytical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in financial analysis, problem-solving, and technical accounting principles. Strong mathematical and scientific aptitude to handle complex financial scenarios.
• Communication & Leadership: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively. Proven ability to lead teams, mentor professionals, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Industry Experience: 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a proven track record of managing end-to-end accounting functions independently. Experience in a regulatory environment such as Saudi Arabia’s VAT, Zakat, and ZATCA compliance is highly preferred.
• ERP & Process Expertise: Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and a commitment to process optimization and digital transformation initiatives.
