Cyber Defense Officer – Safeguarding Digital Assets with Strategic Vigilance

From configuring advanced firewalls and intrusion detection systems to conducting comprehensive vulnerability assessments, you will play a critical role in identifying, mitigating, and responding to security incidents with precision and urgency.
Key Responsibilities
Your impact will be felt across multiple dimensions of cyber defense:
- Proactive Threat Mitigation: Implement state-of-the-art detection, prevention, and recovery controls to counter malicious code and cyber threats, ensuring seamless protection for all end-users.
- Technical Defense Deployment: Configure and install firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and other security infrastructure to create an impenetrable digital perimeter.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability testing, risk analyses, and security assessments to identify weaknesses before they can be exploited. Maintain a real-time, up-to-date threat and vulnerability database to stay ahead of emerging threats.
- Incident Response and Investigation: Lead investigations into security breaches, determining root causes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement remediation strategies. Follow structured operational processes to escalate incidents, analyze their impact, and ensure swift recovery.
- SIEM and Log Monitoring: Monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, analyzing key logs to detect anomalies and potential threats in real time. Stay current with SIEM updates and enhancements to optimize threat detection capabilities.
- Compliance and Reporting: Generate detailed, actionable reports on vulnerabilities, remediation steps, and incident responses to inform strategic decision-making and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.
- Process Optimization: Continuously refine and enhance operational procedures for incident response, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity governance to align with evolving industry best practices.
- Collaborative Threat Intelligence: Actively engage with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to address and resolve security incidents in accordance with approved incident response plans.
- Adaptive Problem-Solving: Execute additional tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to broader cybersecurity initiatives.

- Education: A Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with 0 to 3 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in the same disciplines with 2 years of experience.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications include CCIE Security, CCNP R&S, CISSP, CISA, or CISM, demonstrating your commitment to maintaining industry-leading standards in cybersecurity.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of secure network architectures, secure coding practices, and cybersecurity protocols. Proficiency in network security systems, threat detection technologies, and vulnerability management frameworks.
- Multilingual Communication: Fluency in both verbal and written English and Arabic, enabling effective collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Interpersonal and Analytical Skills: Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively. Strong analytical abilities to assess risks, prioritize threats, and develop data-driven solutions.
- Certified Cybersecurity Training: Completion of relevant cybersecurity training programs to stay current with emerging threats and defensive strategies.
