Key Responsibilities

As a strategic leader in process engineering, your responsibilities will span leadership, technical assurance, and stakeholder management, ensuring that every project delivers optimal performance, safety, and sustainability.

Leadership & Technical Direction

• Lead and mentor a high-performing Process Engineering discipline team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Provide visionary technical direction to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors, ensuring alignment with project objectives and industry best practices.
• Collaborate closely with the iPMT Process Engineering organization and cross-functional project disciplines to drive cohesive execution.
• Act as a bridge between Operations, technical departments, contractors, and licensors to resolve complex technical challenges and ensure seamless project delivery.

Process Design & Technical Assurance

• Oversee and review process engineering deliverables prepared by EPC contractors and licensors, ensuring they meet the highest standards of optimization, compliance, and technical rigor.
• Enforce adherence to applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices, guaranteeing that designs are robust, efficient, and future-proof.
• Monitor process engineering execution against the Engineering Execution Strategy and approved procedures, identifying and mitigating risks proactively.
• Resolve critical process-related technical issues that could impact project timelines, budgets, or operational readiness.
• Review and approve key process engineering deliverables, including:
• Process Design Basis
• Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
• Heat and Material Balances
• Utility Balances
• Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
• Operating Philosophies
• Cause & Effect Diagrams
• Process Control Narratives
• Flare Design Basis
• Relief and Depressurization Studies (Hydraulic Calculations)
• Ensure all process deliverables are developed, reviewed, and issued in strict alignment with project schedules and technical requirements.

Stakeholder & Interface Management

• Serve as the primary iPMT focal point for Process Engineering, liaising effectively with the Owner, EPC contractors, licensors, and third-party certification agencies.
• Manage technical interfaces and resolve multidisciplinary engineering challenges, ensuring seamless collaboration across all project stakeholders.
• Oversee process integration across entire facilities and battery limits, including:
• PDH Unit
• Polypropylene Unit
• Utilities Systems
• Offsites
• Tank Farm Facilities
• Flare Systems
• Feedstock Systems
• Product Export Systems
• Interconnecting Facilities
• Coordinate utility consumption and generation requirements, including steam, condensate, cooling water, nitrogen, instrument air, electrical systems, fuel gas, and flare systems, to ensure operational efficiency.
• Develop and align a systemization philosophy with precommissioning and commissioning objectives, ensuring smooth transition to operations.
• Define, coordinate, and manage interfaces between licensors and EPC contractors, ensuring clarity and accountability.
• Lead multidisciplinary reviews to maintain consistency and coherence across engineering disciplines.
• Verify that interfaces with existing NATPET facilities, external utilities, and third-party infrastructure are fully addressed and integrated.

Process Safety & Risk Management

• Lead the implementation of process safety management principles throughout the entire project lifecycle—from design and procurement to construction, commissioning, startup, and operations readiness.
• Ensure strict compliance with process safety standards and industry best practices, mitigating risks and enhancing operational safety.
• Drive the identification, assessment, and mitigation of process-related risks, ensuring proactive measures are in place to safeguard personnel, assets, and the environment.
• Oversee consequence modeling, relief studies, flare studies, dispersion analyses, fire protection studies, and safety assessments, integrating findings into the design for a robust and secure outcome.
• Maintain and enhance the Process Safety Risk Register, ensuring continuous improvement in safety protocols and emergency response strategies.
