Join Lucid’s Mission to Redefine Mobility: Incoming Quality Engineer, Powertrain

At Lucid, we are pioneering the future of sustainable, high-performance mobility through cutting-edge technology and a relentless commitment to excellence. Our award-winning vehicles, including the Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity, embody our philosophy of Compromise Nothing™—where innovation in design, engineering, and sustainability converge to deliver unparalleled experiences. With in-house vertical integration spanning design, engineering, and production, we foster a collaborative environment where global talent drives transformative solutions. As an Incoming Quality Engineer, Powertrain, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our manufacturing operations by ensuring the highest quality standards for incoming components, directly impacting the reliability and performance of our vehicles.

This dynamic role demands a proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. You will lead incoming quality initiatives at Lucid’s AMP2 facility in Saudi Arabia, collaborating with global teams to mitigate risks, optimize processes, and uphold Lucid’s reputation for excellence. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining seamless production flow, fostering supplier accountability, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

As the guardian of incoming quality, your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Quality Leadership: Develop and deploy a robust incoming quality strategy, ensuring alignment with Lucid’s global standards and manufacturing objectives. Establish quality resources, tools, and methodologies to preemptively address potential issues and protect production lines from non-conformities.
  • Immediate Issue Resolution: Act as the first line of defense against supplier-related abnormalities, implementing urgent containment measures and interim solutions to safeguard both internal operations and external customer satisfaction. Challenge and refine containment strategies to ensure long-term effectiveness.
  • Process and Tool Development: Design and implement advanced inspection methods, tools, and work instructions tailored to incoming components. Collaborate with IT to enhance and update the incoming quality module within SAP, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize processes.
  • Supplier Collaboration and Performance Management: Foster close partnerships with suppliers, Supplier Quality Development, and Supply Chain teams to align expectations and drive continuous improvement. Monitor supplier performance metrics, manage claims processes, and oversee chargebacks to ensure accountability and timely resolution of quality issues.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions: Lead the investigation of supplier non-conformities through the Material Review Board process, identifying root causes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable corrective actions. Drive permanent improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Team Development and Training: Mentor and train incoming quality team members, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to uphold Lucid’s quality standards. Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous learning.
  • Third-Party Service Oversight: Manage in-house third-party services for sorting, repair, and touch-up activities, including resource allocation, performance evaluation, and reporting to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC): Monitor and analyze SPC data within SAP to identify trends, deviations, and opportunities for process optimization, ensuring incoming components meet stringent specifications.
  • Quality Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and comprehensive incoming quality inspection records, ensuring compliance with industry standards and Lucid’s internal policies.

Why This Role Matters

Your work will directly contribute to Lucid’s mission of delivering vehicles that set new benchmarks in performance, sustainability, and design. By ensuring the integrity of incoming components, you will help maintain the seamless production flow that enables Lucid to bring groundbreaking mobility solutions to the global market. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to be part of a movement that challenges the status quo and shapes the future of transportation.

Qualifications and Skills

We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical professional with a passion for quality assurance and a proven track record in high-volume automotive manufacturing. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, with a preference for Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of direct experience in the role of an Incoming Quality Engineer, with 2-5 years in a high-volume Automotive OEM manufacturing environment. Experience in a powertrain or component-focused role is highly advantageous.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of quality standards, specifications, and statistical process control (SPC). Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and technical documentation with precision.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong aptitude for identifying root causes, developing data-driven solutions, and implementing corrective actions. Creative mindset to address complex quality challenges.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders. Ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights and drive alignment across global teams.
  • Technical Tools: Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and experience with project management tools such as MS Project. Familiarity with SAP systems is a significant advantage.
  • Soft Skills: Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable with a proactive approach to dynamic work environments. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain collaborative relationships.

At Lucid, we value individuals who are as passionate about innovation as we are. If you are ready to take on a challenging yet rewarding role that will have a tangible impact on the future of mobility, we invite you to join our team and help us Compromise Nothing™ in pursuit of excellence.
