Key Responsibilities

As an Anesthesiologist at King Abdulaziz University Hospital, your responsibilities will include:

• Preoperative Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough preoperative evaluations to tailor anesthesia plans that align with each patient’s unique medical history and procedural requirements.
• Intraoperative Care: Administer and monitor anesthesia with precision, ensuring airway management, hemodynamic stability, and optimal patient safety throughout surgical and interventional procedures.
• Postoperative Management: Provide expert care in recovery and critical care settings, including pain management, monitoring, and follow-up to facilitate smooth transitions and promote patient recovery.
• Collaborative Practice: Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver seamless perioperative care and support safe, effective operative outcomes.
• Pain Management: Lead and contribute to comprehensive pain management services, addressing both acute postoperative pain and chronic pain conditions with evidence-based approaches.
• Critical Care Coordination: Collaborate with Critical Care teams to ensure patients requiring intensive monitoring receive the highest standard of care and support.
• Professional Development: Participate in teaching, mentoring, and research activities, contributing to the hospital’s mission of advancing medical education and clinical innovation.
• Compliance and Documentation: Adhere strictly to hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while maintaining meticulous and accurate clinical documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for a distinguished Anesthesiologist with:

• Clinical Expertise: Proven experience in Anesthesiology with a deep understanding of perioperative care, anesthesia administration, and critical care principles across diverse patient populations and procedures.
• Collaborative Mindset: A track record of effective teamwork with surgical teams and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Pain Management Proficiency: Specialized knowledge in acute and chronic pain management, including postoperative pain control and interdisciplinary pain service coordination.
• Critical Care Acumen: Strong familiarity with intensive care protocols and the ability to coordinate closely with Critical Care Nursing for high-acuity patients.
• Education and Certification: A completed medical degree (MD or equivalent) and formal residency training in Anesthesiology. Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology is highly preferred. Valid professional licensure to practice medicine and anesthesia is required.
• Clinical Judgment and Safety Focus: Exceptional clinical judgment, attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice.
• Communication and Leadership: Outstanding communication skills in a multicultural, academic hospital environment, with proficiency in English. Arabic language skills are a significant advantage.
