Our award-winning Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity models redefine industry standards, combining extraordinary range, dynamic engineering, and timeless design—all while upholding our core principle of Compromise Nothing™. As a vertically integrated company, we integrate design, engineering, and manufacturing under one roof, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence across global teams. We are seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner – Transportation to play a pivotal role in optimizing our logistics and transportation financial operations. In this strategic position, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making, enhance cost efficiency, and ensure seamless financial alignment across inbound and outbound logistics. This is an opportunity to leverage your expertise in finance, supply chain, and cost analysis to support Lucid’s ambitious growth while contributing to the development of industry-leading mobility solutions.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Finance Business Partner – Transportation, your responsibilities will span multiple critical areas, ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strategic insights across our logistics and transportation functions:

  • Transportation Finance Leadership: Lead the preparation, maintenance, and analysis of inventory, freight, and duty cost data for both inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals. Collaborate with Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) teams to collect, validate, and interpret freight-related cost information, while monitoring trends and identifying significant variances to inform strategic decisions.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Act as a key contributor to the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning for transportation and logistics. Gather and analyze inputs from Logistics and SCM teams to project cost trends, track actual expenditures against budgets, and report variances to support proactive financial management. Maintain and enhance cost-related KPIs and performance dashboards to provide real-time insights for leadership.
  • Cost Variance Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of inventory, inbound, and outbound freight cost variances, supporting root-cause investigations for significant deviations. Develop and present monthly reports on logistics and transportation cost performance, while actively identifying cost-saving opportunities through rigorous data analysis and trend evaluation.
  • New Product Costing Support: Collaborate with Product Development (PD) and Logistics teams to support landed cost estimations for new products, preparing detailed costing analyses and business case evaluations. Monitor cost changes throughout the product development lifecycle and contribute to benchmarking activities to ensure competitive pricing and market alignment.
  • Cost Reporting and Management: Prepare and disseminate periodic freight and logistics cost reports, developing and maintaining dynamic cost-tracking dashboards and performance metrics. Analyze cost trends, savings initiatives, and localization benefits to drive continuous improvement and optimize working capital. Provide comprehensive support for logistics-related budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation processes, analyzing inventory movements, aging, slow-moving, and obsolete stock to mitigate risks. Support physical inventory counts and cycle counts by validating records and investigating discrepancies, preparing inventory-related reports and KPIs to empower data-driven decision-making. Collaborate with Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Operations teams to enhance inventory accuracy, turnover, and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Data Integrity and ERP Costing: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of costing data within SAP and related enterprise systems, supporting master data maintenance for costing structures, routings, and logistics parameters. Perform periodic data validation and reconciliation activities to identify and resolve quality issues impacting financial reporting and operational efficiency.

This role demands a strategic mindset, a passion for financial optimization, and a collaborative approach to driving operational excellence. If you are a finance professional with a keen eye for detail, a commitment to innovation, and a desire to contribute to a transformative industry, we encourage you to explore this opportunity at Lucid.
