Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Lead Corrosion Management and Monitoring: Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive corrosion management program, integrating advanced on-stream monitoring technologies to ensure real-time integrity assessment and predictive maintenance.
• Technical Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert technical support for corrosion-related challenges, asset integrity management, and failure analysis, ensuring swift and effective resolution of critical issues.
• Risk-Based Inspection Leadership: Conduct and oversee risk-based inspections aligned with API-580 methodology, ensuring systematic evaluation of corrosion risks and prioritization of inspection activities to maximize efficiency and reliability.
• Corrosion Control Validation: Review and approve technical solutions for coating failures and cathodic protection systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and optimal performance.
• HAZOP and Integrity Compliance: Actively participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) review sessions, ensuring all corrosion-related hazards are identified, assessed, and mitigated in accordance with best practices.
• Water Treatment Optimization: Manage and enhance the water treatment program, developing innovative solutions to address operational challenges and ensure system efficiency.
• Integrity Operating Window (IOW) Compliance: Review and support operational practices to maintain alignment with integrity operating windows, ensuring safe and compliant asset performance.
• Design and Material Validation: Evaluate design packages and validate material selection based on the latest NACE, ASME, API, and ASTM standards, ensuring alignment with global regulatory requirements.
• Corrosion Damage Analysis: Frequently assess corrosion control measures, corrosion loops, and damage mechanisms to identify trends, validate mitigation strategies, and recommend data-driven improvements.
• Feed Composition and Asset Integrity: Analyze changes in feed composition and approve recommended solutions to preserve asset integrity, minimizing operational risks and extending equipment lifespan.
• Technical Implementation and Knowledge Transfer: Develop scopes and descriptions for corrosion-related technology implementations, leading field execution and transferring institutional knowledge on coatings, cathodic protection, corrosion inhibitors, and industry best practices to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Permanent Relocation Requirement: Willingness to relocate to Jubail, Saudi Arabia, where you will contribute to our global operations in a dynamic industrial setting.
• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with a preference for specialization in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
• Industry Experience: A minimum of 12 years of experience (with a strong preference for 15+ years) in the oil and gas sector, with a focus on processing, material science, metrology, and welding engineering. Prior experience in refinery corrosion, damage mechanisms, and operational challenges is highly advantageous.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technologies and their applications, including advanced inspection methodologies to assess corrosion and structural integrity.
• Industry Standards and Certifications: In-depth knowledge of international standards and codes, including NACE, ASME, API, and ASTM, with a focus on corrosion and inspection standards such as API-571, API-580, API-570, API-584, and API-510. Hold a valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist certification, or a combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist, API-571, and NACE CP (Cathodic Protection) Level I certifications.
