As a Traffic Engineer within our prestigious Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company (SABCO) team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the transportation networks of Jubail—a visionary city rising from the desert to become a global industrial and residential hub. With a renewed five-year contract through 2031, Bechtel is expanding Jubail’s infrastructure, including residential communities, iconic landmarks, commercial centers, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and critical utility systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring seamless mobility, safety, and efficiency across this monumental project.

In this full-time, on-site role based in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and optimize traffic systems that support both residential and industrial growth. Your work will directly contribute to the Royal Commission’s vision for a sustainable, connected, and resilient city—aligning with Bechtel’s legacy of delivering world-class infrastructure since 1898. Key Responsibilities

As the Traffic Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Traffic Planning: Develop comprehensive transportation recommendations for the Jubail City Master Plan, integrating public transit systems, industrial material handling, rail freight logistics, and port-related traffic to ensure efficient movement of people and goods.
• Technical Leadership: Apply advanced traffic management principles, techniques, and analytical methods to review, consult on, and refine Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) submitted by contractors and industry stakeholders. Ensure compliance with local (Royal Commission), national (Ministry of Transport), and international (FHWA) standards.
• Safety and Compliance: Lead traffic safety initiatives, including road safety audits, signal coordination, and optimization studies, to enhance mobility and reduce risks. Direct traffic engineering assignments and studies while adhering to best practices in design and implementation.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with internal Bechtel teams, external contractors, and government officials to align traffic solutions with project objectives. Provide technical guidance to improve traffic flow, safety, and infrastructure resilience.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and review critical traffic assessments, impact studies, and reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy for decision-makers. Assist in developing specifications for traffic control devices and temporary traffic management plans.
• Project Support: Contribute to the scope-of-work for large-scale projects, including signal optimization, traffic impact analyses, and access studies, to support Bechtel’s role as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) manager for Jubail’s expansion.
