In this dynamic role, you will leverage your expertise to translate complex client requirements into robust, scalable electrical designs that align with global and regional standards. Your work will encompass everything from medium and low-voltage distribution systems and generator/UPS configurations to advanced grounding schemes, power monitoring, and fire detection systems. By integrating the latest analytical tools, BIM/Revit models, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, you will deliver designs that not only meet but exceed performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Your expertise will be instrumental in the following critical areas:

• End-to-End Electrical Design Leadership: Oversee the full spectrum of electrical system design, including distribution networks, switchgear, busducts, and power management solutions, ensuring seamless integration with mission-critical infrastructure.
• Technical Documentation and Compliance: Develop comprehensive technical deliverables—such as single-line diagrams, system studies, and compliance tables—while adhering to international standards like Uptime Institute Tier classifications, TIA-942, NFPA, and ASHRAE, alongside local regulations such as PDPL and ESMA.
• Advanced Design Reviews and Innovation: Lead conceptual and detailed design reviews, utilizing state-of-the-art tools to optimize performance, safety, and cost-efficiency. Collaborate with architectural, mechanical, and building technology teams to refine solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible.
• Mentorship and Team Development: Foster a culture of excellence by mentoring junior engineers, sharing best practices, and driving continuous improvement in design methodologies. Your leadership will help cultivate a high-performing team capable of tackling the most complex projects.
• Global Collaboration and Standardization: Work closely with regional and international teams to align design practices with global standards, ensuring consistency and scalability across projects in the UAE and KSA. Develop repeatable, high-impact data centre solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reduce long-term costs.
• Feasibility and Site Assessments: Conduct in-depth site evaluations, capacity planning, and feasibility studies to ensure designs meet Uptime Institute Tier requirements while addressing real-world constraints and opportunities.
• Business Growth and Client Engagement: Contribute to technical proposals and client presentations, showcasing your expertise to attract high-value projects. Identify opportunities for service enhancements that position WSP as a leader in mission-critical infrastructure.

Qualifications and Expertise

To thrive in this role, you will bring a blend of technical mastery and strategic vision:

• Advanced Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, complemented by a proven track record of success in the field.
• Decade-Long Experience in Data Centre Excellence: At least 10 years of progressive experience in designing and delivering large-scale data centres, with a strong portfolio of Uptime Tier III/IV projects. Your hands-on experience should include power distribution topologies, server and storage systems, SCADA integration, and security infrastructure.
• Certifications That Command Respect: Professional certifications such as Uptime Tier Certified Professional, PMP, LEED AP, or BICSI RCDD are highly valued and will further distinguish your contributions.
• Stakeholder Coordination: A demonstrated ability to navigate complex, matrixed environments and collaborate effectively with clients, architects, contractors, and cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Regulatory and Code Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of local and international codes, including NEC, IEC, ISO 50001, ISO 27001, PDPL, and ESMA, ensuring designs are both compliant and future-proof.
• Communication and Presentation Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly, engage clients, and lead workshops that drive consensus and innovation.
• Construction Phasing Expertise: Experience in managing data centre construction phasing and associated design planning to ensure seamless execution from concept to completion.
