What You Will Do

As a Generalist Software Engineer, your responsibilities will span the entire technology lifecycle, from ideation to deployment. Your key contributions will include:

• End-to-End Problem Solving: Translate ambiguous requirements into actionable, production-ready solutions, selecting the optimal layer—whether it’s services, interfaces, data paths, or underlying systems—to deliver the best outcome.
• Full-Stack Agility: Navigate and enhance multiple layers of the technology stack, including services, control planes, tooling, and hardware interfaces, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
• Tooling Innovation: Develop and implement automated tooling that streamlines workflows, reduces manual effort, and empowers your team to focus on higher-value initiatives.
• Code Mastery: Quickly grasp unfamiliar codebases, assess risks, and implement changes with precision—ensuring stability and reliability in every modification.
• Ownership and Accountability: Take full responsibility for your deliverables, including on-call duties, ensuring that your work meets the highest standards of quality and resilience.

What You Bring

We are looking for engineers with a proven track record of versatility, technical depth, and a proactive mindset. To excel in this role, you should have:

• Three or More Years of Production Experience: A strong foundation in developing, deploying, and maintaining software systems in real-world environments.
• Bilingual Technical Fluency: Proficiency in at least one systems programming language (e.g., C++, Rust, Go) and one high-level language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java) to tackle diverse challenges across the stack.
• Layered Experience: Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple technical layers, from low-level systems to high-level applications, showcasing adaptability and depth.
• Comfort with Ambiguity: A proactive approach to decision-making, where you thrive in environments with evolving requirements and unclear paths forward.

Preferred but Not Required:

• Experience in infrastructure, Linux systems, or distributed systems design.
• A history of contributing to open-source projects, fostering collaboration and innovation.
