Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Software Development Manager to lead our software development initiatives with a strategic focus on innovation, efficiency, and business alignment. Key Responsibilities

The Senior Software Development Manager will play a critical role in shaping our digital transformation journey by executing the following core responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute the digital transformation and application delivery strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
• Develop, implement, and continuously refine software engineering processes, standards, and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and innovation.
• Ensure strict adherence to enterprise architecture, security protocols, quality benchmarks, and governance frameworks to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.

Project Planning, Delivery & Execution

• Oversee the planning, management, and execution of software development initiatives from initial requirements gathering through delivery, release, and post-production support.
• Take ownership of project timelines, scope, resource allocation, and interdependencies across multiple concurrent initiatives to ensure seamless execution.
• Monitor project progress through regular status reviews, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Champion the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations and business requirements.

Technical Leadership & Innovation

• Provide visionary technical leadership and architectural guidance to development teams, fostering the adoption of industry best practices, scalable designs, and modern engineering methodologies.
• Guide critical solution design decisions by balancing technical constraints, security imperatives, performance requirements, and evolving business needs.
• Address complex technical challenges, remove delivery bottlenecks, and ensure smooth sprint execution and product releases to drive continuous value delivery.
• Stay at the forefront of technological advancements, evaluating emerging tools and frameworks to recommend and implement innovations that enhance delivery outcomes.

Team Management & Professional Development

• Lead, mentor, and manage software development teams, cultivating a high-performing, collaborative, and results-driven culture that fosters professional growth and engagement.
• Optimize resource allocation, workload distribution, and staffing strategies to maximize team productivity and delivery efficiency.
• Conduct comprehensive performance evaluations, deliver constructive feedback, and develop tailored professional development plans to enhance team capabilities and retention.

Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Manage joint development initiatives with third-party vendors and outsourced development partners, ensuring alignment with project goals and organizational standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Operations, Airport Systems, OCC, and IT Support teams, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of software solutions with business objectives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, translating technical insights into actionable strategies and maintaining transparent communication to gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement & Compliance

• Lead root cause analysis for recurring issues, implementing sustainable solutions to enhance system reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, security protocols, and organizational policies to safeguard data integrity and operational resilience.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and professional background:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are considered advantageous.

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 10–12 years of progressive experience in IT and software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role overseeing enterprise-scale software development initiatives.
• Proven track record managing both internal teams and external vendors to deliver complex software solutions on time and within budget.
• Strong preference for candidates with prior experience in the aviation industry, demonstrating familiarity with its unique operational and technological challenges.

Technical & Methodological Proficiency

• Hands-on experience with application development platforms, enterprise systems, and modern cloud and integration technologies.
• Expertise in Agile and DevOps delivery methodologies, with a focus on CI/CD pipelines and source control tools such as Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles, security frameworks, and quality assurance processes.

Certifications & Professional Development

• Relevant technical or IT management certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Scrum Master, or cloud certifications) are highly desirable and will be considered a strong asset.
