Key Responsibilities

The Senior Packaging Technologist will be responsible for a wide range of critical functions, including:

• Packaging Innovation and Development: Lead the research, design, and implementation of cutting-edge packaging solutions that enhance product protection, shelf life, and consumer appeal while reducing environmental impact.
• Process Optimization: Analyze current packaging processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance productivity, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all packaging materials and processes comply with local and international regulations, including food safety standards, environmental laws, and corporate policies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, procurement, production, and quality assurance teams to align packaging strategies with business objectives and market demands.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in Packaging Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Packaging Professional) are advantageous.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in packaging technology, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
• Proven expertise in packaging design, material selection, and process optimization, with a strong understanding of sustainability principles.
• In-depth knowledge of packaging machinery, automation, and industry standards (e.g., ISO, FDA, GFSI).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative and results-driven environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as CAD, PLM systems, and packaging simulation software.
