Position Overview
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Construction Manager – Utilities Infrastructure to lead and oversee medium-scale construction projects, typically ranging from 250,000 to 2 million construction manhours or a total installed cost of $50 to $100 million. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Construction Manager, you will play a critical role in directing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive construction plans, identifying critical milestones, priorities, and resource requirements to optimize project outcomes.
- Budget and Resource Management: Prepare accurate budget estimates and staffing plans, ensuring the timely availability of subcontractors, major construction equipment, and materials to maintain productivity and efficiency.
- Supervision and Leadership: Assign and oversee Construction Superintendents for various work areas, monitoring progress, and implementing corrective actions as needed to mitigate risks and ensure project milestones are met.
- Quality and Efficiency: Enforce sound construction practices to achieve superior quality control while minimizing costs and maximizing operational efficiency.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare detailed progress reports for senior management and clients, providing transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Policy and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to company and client policies, including labor relations, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison between Parsons, clients, subcontractors, and government representatives, fostering strong relationships and resolving construction-related issues proactively.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field (e.g., Civil Engineering, Construction Management) or equivalent work experience is required. A minimum of 15 years of hands-on field construction experience is essential, with a proven track record in managing large civil, structural, or industrial projects in domestic or international locations.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of construction processes, industry best practices, and project management methodologies. Familiarity with utilities infrastructure and related regulatory standards is highly desirable.
