Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Risk Manager to oversee and enhance risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies for our upcoming road and infrastructure project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This critical role will play a pivotal part in safeguarding project success by proactively managing risks throughout the planning, design, and construction phases. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, a deep understanding of risk management frameworks, and exceptional leadership capabilities to guide our team through potential challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments for roads and bridges projects, identifying potential hazards and developing robust mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are met without compromise.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to integrate risk management processes seamlessly into the project lifecycle, ensuring all team members are aligned and informed about potential risks.
• Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor and report on risk exposure across all project phases, utilizing advanced risk management software and tools to track progress and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation measures.
• Policy and Procedure Development: Design and implement tailored risk management policies and procedures that align with industry best practices, ensuring they meet the unique demands of road and bridge construction projects.
• Training and Culture Development: Lead risk workshops and training sessions to enhance project teams' understanding of risk management principles, fostering a proactive risk-aware culture throughout the organization.
• Data Analysis and Trend Identification: Analyze project data and historical performance metrics to uncover trends and insights, informing future risk management strategies and driving continuous improvement.
• Regulatory Engagement: Engage with regulatory bodies and industry associations to remain abreast of compliance requirements and emerging risks in the construction sector, ensuring the project adheres to all relevant standards.
• Reporting and Strategy Recommendations: Prepare comprehensive risk reports and presentations for senior management, offering clear insights into risk exposure and actionable recommendations for risk reduction.
• Contingency Planning: Lead cross-functional teams in developing contingency plans and response strategies for identified risks, ensuring the organization is well-prepared to address potential challenges effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• Experience: Minimum of 20 years of hands-on experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, including bridges, underpasses, overpasses, roads, and highways.
• Risk Management Expertise: Proven track record in project risk management across planning, design, and construction phases, with a strong grasp of risk management frameworks and methodologies such as risk registers, risk matrices, and qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Language Proficiency: Excellent command of English, both written and spoken; proficiency in Arabic is considered a valuable asset.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, along with strong analytical and reporting skills to support data-driven decision-making.
• Leadership and Communication: Exceptional leadership, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
