About the Role

As an IT Governance Specialist, you will serve as a key contributor to the development, implementation, and monitoring of digital governance policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring compliance with national and international regulations related to digital transformation, cybersecurity, and data governance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance digital maturity, mitigate risks, and embed governance best practices into all technology initiatives. This role is instrumental in shaping a resilient and compliant digital ecosystem that aligns with Reef Holding’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Governance & Compliance

• Support the execution and continuous monitoring of digital governance policies and procedures across all departments to ensure alignment with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with national regulations, industry standards, and internal policies pertaining to digital transformation, cybersecurity, and data governance.
• Contribute to the development, review, and documentation of digital governance frameworks, policies, and procedural guidelines to ensure clarity and enforceability.
• Monitor and verify that digital platforms, systems, and technologies adhere to approved technical standards and governance requirements, identifying and addressing deviations proactively.

Documentation & Records Management

• Maintain comprehensive governance registers, digital records, policy documentation, and compliance indicators to support transparency and accountability.
• Prepare and organize data-driven reports and supporting documentation for governance audits, regulatory submissions, and internal reviews.
• Develop procedural guides, templates, and documentation to standardize governance processes and facilitate consistent implementation across the organization.

Digital Maturity & Risk Management

• Participate in digital maturity assessments by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Track and oversee corrective action plans, ensuring timely resolution of findings from audits, technical reviews, and compliance assessments.
• Support digital risk management initiatives by documenting observations, monitoring remediation activities, and recommending mitigative measures to minimize operational and security risks.

Reporting & Coordination

• Prepare and present periodic reports on governance performance, compliance status, and progress of improvement initiatives to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies, audit teams, and external partners to ensure accurate and timely reporting on governance matters and compliance status.
• Monitor adherence to approved governance channels and operating procedures across departments, escalating non-compliance issues as necessary.

Awareness & Transformation Support

• Support the development and delivery of internal awareness programs to promote digital governance, cybersecurity best practices, and compliance culture among employees.
• Contribute to the enhancement of governance processes and the optimization of operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure that governance and compliance requirements are integrated into digital transformation projects from the planning and implementation stages, fostering a proactive compliance mindset.

Qualifications & Competencies

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in IT governance, digital transformation, compliance, or cybersecurity support roles.

Technical & Professional Skills

• In-depth understanding of IT governance frameworks, such as ITIL or COBIT, and digital compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to analyze governance metrics, technical data, and performance indicators to derive actionable insights.
• Experience in preparing clear, concise, and accurate technical and management reports for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in working with enterprise systems, digital platforms, and governance tools to streamline processes and ensure compliance.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, enabling effective management of multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Certifications & Training

• ITIL or COBIT certification in IT Governance.
• ISO 27001 training in Information Security Management Systems.
• Foundational or advanced training in Digital Transformation fundamentals from recognized institutions.
• Courses in IT Risk Management and Digital Compliance to enhance expertise in risk mitigation and regulatory adherence.

Language Requirements

• Fluent proficiency in both Arabic and English, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
