Finishing Engineer

Position Overview

Mobco Group is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Finishing Engineer to join our dynamic project team based in Riyadh. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing architectural finishing works and fit-out activities on large-scale construction projects. This position requires a professional with a strong background in architectural finishes, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to ensure project execution aligns with approved specifications, quality standards, and timelines. The Finishing Engineer will collaborate closely with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to deliver high-quality interior and exterior finishing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The Finishing Engineer will be responsible for the following core duties:

• Supervision and Monitoring: Oversee all architectural finishing and fit-out activities on-site, ensuring adherence to approved drawings, project specifications, and quality benchmarks.
• Technical Review and Coordination: Evaluate architectural shop drawings, finishing details, and material submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements. Coordinate seamlessly with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to facilitate smooth project execution.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous inspections of flooring, wall finishes, ceilings, painting, cladding, joinery, decorative elements, and other interior finishes. Verify compliance with approved mock-ups and project standards, addressing any deviations promptly.
• Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical challenges related to finishing works, proposing efficient solutions to maintain project momentum.
• Progress Tracking: Monitor the progress of finishing activities, ensuring timely completion within approved schedules. Coordinate with MEP and other construction disciplines to align finishing works with broader project milestones.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to track project status, highlight potential risks, and recommend corrective actions. Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, testing, and compliance activities.
• Handover and Snagging: Participate actively in snagging, de-snagging, testing, and handover processes to ensure the project meets all quality and safety standards before final delivery.
• Compliance and Safety: Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and quality throughout all finishing activities, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in architectural finishing and fit-out works, with a proven track record on mega construction projects.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of architectural finishes, construction methodologies, and quality control procedures. Experience in reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and finishing specifications is essential.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office applications to support design review, documentation, and reporting.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational, technical, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Mandatory Requirements

• Architectural educational background.
• Minimum of 7 years and maximum of 12 years of relevant experience in finishing and fit-out works.
• Proven experience on mega projects is mandatory.
• Strong expertise in architectural finishing and fit-out works.
• Immediate availability or a short notice period is preferred.
