Role Overview

As the Operations & Maintenance & Handover Manager for Rail, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational excellence, safety, and reliability of rail infrastructure. This senior position requires a strategic leader who can oversee all aspects of maintenance and handover processes, driving efficiency, compliance, and seamless transitions. You will be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance strategies that optimise asset performance, minimise downtime, and ensure regulatory adherence. Your leadership will extend to managing teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintaining meticulous documentation to support compliance and audit requirements. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in rail operations and maintenance, capable of navigating complex challenges while delivering sustainable and high-performance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations & Maintenance Leadership: Oversee all operations and maintenance activities for rail infrastructure, ensuring strict adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence. Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance programmes to enhance asset performance and reduce downtime.
• Handover Management: Lead and manage the handover processes for rail systems, assets, and facilities, ensuring smooth transitions and thorough documentation. Facilitate induction and training programmes for new operational and maintenance personnel to align them with organisational standards and procedures.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Direct and mentor maintenance teams, providing guidance on technical procedures, safety protocols, and performance expectations. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal departments and external contractors to ensure the timely completion of maintenance and operational tasks. Manage stakeholder communications regarding operational status, maintenance schedules, and handover milestones to maintain transparency and alignment.
• Compliance & Documentation: Establish and maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, asset conditions, and handover documentation to support compliance and audit requirements. Ensure adherence to Saudi Arabian rail regulations, industry standards, and organisational policies.
• Process Optimisation: Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address operational and maintenance-related challenges proactively.
• Budget Management: Prepare and manage budgets for maintenance operations and resource allocation, ensuring cost-effective and sustainable resource utilisation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in rail operations and maintenance management, with a strong focus on leadership and strategic oversight.
• Proven track record in managing asset handovers and transition projects, ensuring seamless integration and operational readiness.
• Exceptional people management and team leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
• In-depth knowledge of rail infrastructure systems, maintenance protocols, and industry best practices.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering results.
