Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the seamless operation of our facilities, systems, and projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will span a wide range of technical, operational, and administrative tasks, including electrical engineering support, contract management, and compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) protocols. Key Responsibilities
The Junior Operations Engineer will be accountable for the following core functions:
- Operations Management: Monitor day-to-day operations to ensure optimal performance, timely service delivery, and adherence to client expectations. Prepare and track service reports, quotations, and contract follow-ups to maintain strong client relationships and contractual compliance.
- Technical Engineering Support:
- Design high-level electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs to support project execution and client deliverables.
- Analyze project controls, cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and manpower requirements for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
- Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to team leaders, supervisors, and technicians to enhance their operational capabilities.
- Conduct quality checks to verify system functionality, safety, and compliance with design specifications.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical equipment faults, perform planned maintenance, and ensure reliable plant and equipment operation.
- Project Coordination & Execution:
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work and projects, assigning tasks to team members while ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
- Participate in job site visits to collect data, deliver services, or inspect installations for compliance with specifications and safety standards.
- Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software to execute tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Inspect completed installations and operations to confirm adherence to design, equipment, and safety standards.
- Technical Assistance & Problem Resolution:
- Provide technical support to field personnel regarding low/medium voltage distribution equipment, motors, and generators.
- Respond to and resolve electrical equipment issues within client facilities, issuing repair reports for historical documentation.
- Identify engineered solutions to recurring electrical problems to enhance system reliability and reduce downtime.
- Lead and participate in Failure Analysis and Vulnerability studies to improve plant and equipment reliability through predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
- Compliance & Safety Management:
- Ensure strict adherence to all quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) procedures, instructions, and controls to safeguard employees, products, and environmental compliance.
- Collaborate with the HSEQ department to develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and conduct risk assessments, including Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA).
- Implement risk control measures derived from HIRA findings and conduct emergency tests as required.
- Prepare and distribute incident reports to the HSEEQ department and support incident investigations as needed.
- Training & Professional Development:
- Conduct toolbox talks and SOP training sessions to ensure team competency and compliance with safety protocols.
- Develop and maintain a yearly schedule for toolbox and SOP training in collaboration with the HSEQ team.
- Stay updated with industry advancements by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in relevant professional societies.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare timely and accurate departmental statements and reports to meet organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize data to identify trends and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Competencies
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications, experiences, and skills:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required. Additional certifications in project management, safety protocols, or electrical systems are advantageous.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, operations, or maintenance within industrial, commercial, or facility management environments.
- Proven track record in designing electrical systems, performing maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Experience with computer-assisted engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools) is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of low/medium voltage systems, electrical distribution, and motor/generator operations.
- Proficiency in project controls, cost estimation, and quantity takeoffs.
- Familiarity with QHSE standards, risk assessment methodologies, and compliance protocols.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify trends and implement engineered solutions.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients, team members, and cross-functional departments.
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities to handle multiple projects and priorities.
- Leadership qualities to mentor and train junior staff while collaborating with senior engineers and managers.

- Additional Requirements:
