We are seeking a results-driven Controller, Financial to join our dynamic team and serve as a strategic partner to Sales and Commercial leadership. Key Responsibilities
The Controller, Financial will be responsible for a broad range of financial and operational functions, including:
- Commercial Finance & Performance Management:
- Conduct thorough reviews of pricing strategies, commercial deals, offers, and partner agreements to ensure alignment with profitability objectives.
- Collaborate with Sales and Commercial teams to finalize deals, establish sales targets, and design incentive structures that drive performance.
- Analyze seasonality trends, product performance, and customer profitability to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Investigate variances between actual performance and budget/forecast, providing actionable insights and corrective measures.
- Strategic Projects & Business Case Evaluation:
- Lead financial due diligence for new products, initiatives, and investments, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and financial sustainability.
- Support digital transformation efforts and other strategic projects through rigorous financial analysis, ROI assessment, and risk evaluation.
- Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to guide executive decision-making.
- Credit, Cash Flow & Risk Management:
- Partner with Credit Control, Sales, Insurance, and Legal teams to proactively manage customer credit risk and define appropriate credit limits.
- Conduct financial health assessments of key customers and recommend mitigation strategies to protect cash flow.
- Monitor Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), aging reports, and cash flow trends, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal credit and risk policies to minimize exposure.
- Commercial Risk & Internal Controls:
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with contracts and market volatility.
- Provide financial expertise during contract negotiations to safeguard the company’s interests.
- Design and maintain robust internal controls to ensure financial accuracy, asset protection, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnering:
- Act as a trusted advisor to Sales and Commercial leadership, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable business insights.
- Foster alignment between finance and non-finance teams to support strategic decision-making and drive organizational success.
Leadership & Organizational Accountabilities

- Translate corporate goals into actionable business plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Monitor plan performance, initiate corrective actions as needed, and provide periodic progress reports to leadership.
- Oversee budgetary controls and expense management to optimize cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Organizational Development & Process Improvement:
- Develop and refine organizational structures to meet current and future business requirements, ensuring all roles are clearly defined and documented.
- Champion process automation and digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging IT solutions and best practices in financial operations.
- Quality & Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of quality as a core competitive advantage, ensuring all financial processes and deliverables meet or exceed organizational benchmarks.
Qualifications & Competencies
To excel in this role, candidates must possess:
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; an MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within commercial finance, business partnering, or a similar capacity.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a proven track record of translating financial insights into strategic business recommendations.
- Experience in credit risk management, cash flow optimization, and internal controls is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership in driving process improvements, organizational development, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel, and financial software; familiarity with business intelligence tools is a plus.
