IBM API Connect & DataPower Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IBM API Connect & DataPower Developer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing robust API solutions using IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower Gateway. Key Responsibilities

• API Development & Deployment: Design, develop, and deploy high-performance APIs using IBM API Connect, ensuring scalability, reliability, and adherence to best practices in API design and governance.
• DataPower Gateway Configuration: Configure, manage, and optimize IBM DataPower Gateway services to facilitate secure and efficient API traffic routing, transformation, and mediation.
• Security Implementation: Implement robust API security policies, including authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms, to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Web Services Development: Develop and integrate RESTful and SOAP web services, leveraging XML, JSON, and XSLT for data transformation and processing.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor API performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to enhance response times, reliability, and overall system efficiency.
• Collaboration & Requirements Gathering: Work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, align API solutions with business objectives, and deliver seamless integration solutions.
• Testing & Deployment Support: Participate in system testing, deployment, and production support activities to ensure smooth rollout and continuous operation of API solutions.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all API and integration solutions comply with enterprise security, governance, and integration standards, maintaining a high level of operational excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower Gateway, including configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Web Services Expertise: Proven experience in developing RESTful and SOAP web services, with a deep understanding of XML, JSON, and XSLT.
• Security Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of API security protocols, including OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS, and API Key authentication, to ensure secure data exchange.
• API Lifecycle Management: Experience with the full API lifecycle, from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
• Integration Architecture: Solid understanding of integration architecture and middleware concepts, enabling the development of scalable and resilient integration solutions.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting abilities to resolve complex technical challenges efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry Experience: Prior experience in Banking, Financial Services, or large-scale Enterprise Integration projects, providing insights into domain-specific requirements and challenges.
