Senior Back-End .NET Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Back-End .NET Developer to architect, develop, and maintain robust enterprise-grade backend systems, APIs, and integrations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Microsoft technologies, software architecture principles, and secure application design to deliver scalable, high-performance digital solutions that align with business objectives. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with a passion for writing clean, efficient code and mentoring junior developers to elevate the entire team’s technical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Back-End .NET Developer, you will play a pivotal role in the full software development lifecycle, from conceptual design to deployment and maintenance. Your responsibilities will include:

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and Web APIs using .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, C#, MVC, and RESTful API frameworks to ensure seamless integration across enterprise systems.
• Software Architecture: Build scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade applications by applying modern software engineering best practices, design patterns, and SOLID principles to enhance maintainability and performance.
• Database Development: Design and optimize database structures, including tables, stored procedures, queries, and indexing strategies, using SQL Server and T-SQL to support efficient data retrieval and transaction processing.
• Application Development: Develop and maintain applications leveraging ASP.NET MVC, Razor Pages, Entity Framework Core, and Dependency Injection to ensure modular, testable, and reusable codebases.
• Security Implementation: Implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms using ASP.NET Identity, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect (OIDC) to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with security standards.
• System Integration: Integrate enterprise systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, SharePoint, and third-party platforms through REST and SOAP services to enable cohesive business workflows.
• Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver integrated end-to-end solutions that meet user and business requirements.
• Deployment & Maintenance: Deploy, host, and maintain applications on IIS, Azure environments, and containerized platforms to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.
• CI/CD Implementation: Participate in the design and implementation of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools to streamline development and deployment processes.
• Code Quality & Mentorship: Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
• Testing & Troubleshooting: Develop and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to validate code quality and system reliability, while troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving application and performance issues efficiently.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including API specifications, architecture diagrams, deployment procedures, and development standards, to ensure knowledge transfer and operational clarity.
• Agile Participation: Engage actively in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives, to contribute to iterative improvements and deliver value in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and technical competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant technologies are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a .NET Backend Developer, with a proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise web applications and backend services using Microsoft technologies.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in .NET Core / ASP.NET Core, C#, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Razor, Entity Framework Core (EF Core), and Web API development.
  • Strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID Principles, and Design Patterns.
  • Expertise in Dependency Injection (DI) and database design, including SQL Server, T-SQL, and indexing optimization.
  • Experience with ASP.NET Identity, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect (OIDC) for authentication and authorization.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, jQuery, IIS hosting, and application deployment processes.
  • Proficiency in version control systems such as Git and TFS, along with experience using Visual Studio and VS Code.
• Preferred Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Cognitive Services, ML.NET, or AI-enabled application development.
  • Knowledge of Docker and containerized deployments for scalable and portable applications.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment workflows.
  • Understanding of cloud-native application architecture and microservices principles.
