Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Software Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of technical tasks, including but not limited to:

• Software Development: Design, develop, and implement back-end features, APIs, and scalable software solutions to meet business and operational requirements.
• Code Quality & Maintenance: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices in software engineering, ensuring long-term reliability and performance.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, hardware engineers, and data scientists, to translate business needs into technical specifications and deliver integrated solutions.
• System Integration: Integrate software applications with hardware components, third-party systems, and external APIs to create cohesive and functional solutions.
• Testing & Debugging: Conduct thorough testing, including unit, integration, and system testing, to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize software performance, scalability, and efficiency to meet evolving business demands and technological advancements.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation for software systems, processes, and best practices to facilitate team collaboration and future maintenance.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and development methodologies to drive innovation and enhance development practices within the organization.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Technical Proficiency: A strong foundation in Computer Science principles, including algorithms, data structures, and software design patterns, with proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C#, Python, or similar.
• Back-End Development: Hands-on experience in back-end web development, including API design and development, database management, and integration with external services.
• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP): Solid understanding and practical application of OOP principles to design scalable, maintainable, and modular software systems.
• Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
• Version Control & Collaboration: Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and experience with collaborative development workflows, including code reviews and agile methodologies.
• Testing & Debugging: Proven experience with testing practices, including unit, integration, and system testing, as well as debugging techniques to ensure software reliability.
• Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Ability to work on-site in Riyadh, collaborate effectively with diverse teams, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
• Technical Advantages: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), or DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines) is considered a significant advantage.
• Domain Knowledge: A keen interest or prior experience in industrial, manufacturing, or aquaculture-related systems is highly desirable, though not mandatory.
