Traction Power Engineer

Design and oversee the implementation of traction power supply systems, ensuring reliable and safe delivery of electrical power to the rail network.

• Technical Leadership & Delivery Excellence:
• Serve as technical lead and subject matter expert for traction power and rail electrical systems.
• Lead traction power studies and calculations, translating results into robust designs, specifications, and drawings.
• Develop detailed designs and specifications for DC and AC systems, traction power substations, distribution, switching, and protection.
• Consider grounding/bonding, negative return, stray current mitigation, and power quality concepts.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and requirements.
• Provide oversight of quality, safety, scope, schedule, budget, and risk across assigned projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver coordinated solutions.
• Support construction delivery through field investigations, submittal reviews, testing, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with utility companies and stakeholders to define service requirements and operational constraints.

• Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the technical content of power systems aspects of multiple projects.
• Act as the nominated delegate for the Manager, Power Systems.
• Assist in the development of the Power Systems team's range of product services and offerings.
• Act as a mentor and adviser to team members for skill and career development.
• Assist in the guidance and direction of the training programs within the Power Systems team.
• Contribute to the preparation, tracking, and follow-up of project RFIs and design queries.
• Participate in regular project meetings and ad-hoc interdisciplinary meetings.
• Interface with design groups and external team members.
• Provide information and support for component, sub-system, and system procurement.
• Deliver design/construction and interface control documentation.
• Support construction and installation activities in the field.
• Support Test & Commissioning and setting to work of Power Systems.
