Cloud Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a robust, scalable, and secure private cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in architecting, building, and onboarding a production-ready cloud platform leveraging VMware and OpenShift technologies. This position requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture, automation, and security governance to deliver a standardized, enterprise-grade solution that aligns with organizational objectives and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end development and deployment of private cloud infrastructure and container platforms. Core duties include:

• Cloud Architecture Design: Develop high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD) for private cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with scalability, availability, and security requirements while adhering to cybersecurity and governance frameworks.
• Platform Implementation: Build and configure core cloud platforms using VMware (vSphere, vCenter, NSX-T, vSAN) and OpenShift, integrating seamlessly with enterprise systems such as networking, security, and IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms.
• Disaster Recovery & Replication: Design and implement robust disaster recovery (DR) architectures and replication strategies to ensure business continuity and data resilience.
• Cloud Management & Automation: Deploy and configure cloud management components, including VMware vRealize Automation (vRA), vRealize Orchestrator (vRO), and vRealize Operations (vROps). Develop automation workflows using tools like vRO, Ansible, and APIs to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
• Self-Service & Service Catalog Enablement: Enable self-service provisioning and service catalog capabilities through integration with platforms such as ServiceNow and vRA, empowering end-users with standardized and automated deployment options.
• Standardization & Governance: Establish and enforce standards for cloud deployments, including the creation of templates, blueprints, and standardized deployment methodologies to ensure consistency, security, and compliance across the environment.

Technical Expertise & Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in OpenShift/Kubernetes architecture, administration, and operations, with a strong focus on container networking, CNI plugins, and multi-cluster connectivity.
• Automation & CI/CD: Proven expertise in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools, automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Helm, ArgoCD), and GitOps practices to drive infrastructure as code (IaC) and streamline deployments.
• Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills, coupled with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is considered a valuable asset.
