Control Systems Engineer

The primary role of a Control Systems Engineer is to oversee the design, integration, testing, and maintenance of train control systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient rail operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the review of client specifications and the generation of technical specifications.
• Overseeing vendor selection, technical oversight of vendor designs, and submittals.
• Collaborating with various design groups and external stakeholders, including vehicle suppliers and the final client.
• Managing system integration across subsystems and identifying system-level risks.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining Automatic Train Control (ATC), CBTC, SCADA, and interlocking systems.
• Preparing and reviewing technical specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and engineering drawings.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting control system operations, and implementing corrective actions.
• Supporting RAMS activities and contributing to system safety case development.
• Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and contractors.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• Strong knowledge of CBTC, ATC, PLC, and SCADA systems.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Visio, and relevant engineering software.
• Experience with systems integration in rail transit environments.
• Understanding of safety-critical software and hardware development lifecycles.
• A B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, with 15+ years of experience, including 10+ years in rail and transit engineering in the Middle East.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration or extensive experience in lieu of licensing.
