Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, review, and coordination of complex electrical systems for large-scale engineering and construction projects. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical works adhere to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance, while providing technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and project stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a central role in the following areas:

• Design and Coordination: Lead the design, specification, and coordination of comprehensive electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, and standby power systems. Ensure seamless integration of these systems into the overall project design.
• Technical Review and Approval: Conduct thorough reviews and approval of electrical engineering drawings, calculations, and submittals to guarantee accuracy, compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with architects, MEP engineers, structural and civil engineers, and other project stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and coordination. Ensure that electrical systems are integrated harmoniously with other project components.
• Site Inspections and Technical Support: Perform detailed site inspections during the construction phase to verify compliance with approved designs and applicable codes. Provide expert technical support to resolve any issues that may arise during implementation.
• Material and Equipment Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate materials and equipment that align with project specifications, performance requirements, and budget constraints.
• Value Engineering and Optimization: Participate in value engineering initiatives and technical workshops to enhance design efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall project performance without compromising quality.
• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Supervise and mentor junior engineers and consultants, providing guidance, quality assurance, and fostering professional growth within the team.
• Code Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all electrical designs strictly comply with international and local electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices to mitigate risks and ensure public safety.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical reports, documentation, and client presentations to clearly communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience. A Master’s Degree (MSc) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution, with at least 5 years of experience, will be considered a strong asset.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of electrical design principles, standards, and best practices, with hands-on experience in building services and infrastructure projects across commercial, residential, or industrial sectors.
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in industry-leading design and analysis software, including AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Dialux, or equivalent tools, to develop and evaluate electrical systems effectively.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards, such as IEC, NEC, IEEE, and other applicable regulations, to ensure compliance and safety in all designs.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, coupled with strong communication skills to lead cross-functional teams and convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Excellent documentation and report-writing skills are essential for maintaining project transparency and accountability.
