Poultry Health Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Poultry Health Manager to join our team at Case in Point Consulting in Riyadh. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the health and welfare of our poultry operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and implementing best practices to maintain optimal flock performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary science, poultry management, and regulatory compliance, with a proven ability to lead and mentor a team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Health Monitoring and Disease Prevention: Develop and execute comprehensive health programs to monitor flock health, prevent diseases, and mitigate risks. Conduct regular health assessments and collaborate with veterinary teams to address any health concerns promptly.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all poultry operations adhere to local, national, and international regulations, including biosecurity measures, animal welfare standards, and food safety protocols. Stay updated on evolving regulatory requirements and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
• Team Leadership and Training: Lead and mentor a team of poultry health specialists, veterinarians, and support staff. Provide training and guidance to ensure adherence to health protocols and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
• Biosecurity Implementation: Design and enforce robust biosecurity measures to prevent the introduction and spread of pathogens. Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to address potential biosecurity breaches.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret health data to identify trends, assess performance, and make data-driven decisions. Prepare detailed reports for senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production managers, nutritionists, and quality assurance personnel, to align health initiatives with overall operational goals. Liaise with external partners, such as suppliers and regulatory agencies, to ensure seamless coordination.
• Emergency Response Planning: Develop and maintain emergency response plans for disease outbreaks or other health crises. Conduct drills and simulations to prepare the team for effective crisis management.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or an equivalent qualification in a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in poultry health management, with a strong background in veterinary science, is essential. Proficiency in regulatory compliance, biosecurity protocols, and data analysis tools is highly desirable. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are critical to success in this position.
