Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize our hospital’s procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution operations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the seamless availability of essential medical and non-medical supplies while driving operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory standards. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Director, you will play a critical part in shaping the strategic direction of our supply chain, fostering strong supplier relationships, and implementing best practices to enhance overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for a wide range of functions, including:
- Procurement & Inventory Management: Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from sourcing and purchasing to inventory control, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet hospital demands without excess or shortage.
- Warehousing & Distribution: Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies, while implementing efficient logistics strategies to minimize delays and reduce operational costs.
- Supplier & Vendor Relations: Lead negotiations with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms, high-quality products, and timely deliveries. Develop and maintain strong partnerships to ensure long-term reliability and value.
- Performance Monitoring & Strategy Development: Track key supply chain performance indicators (KPIs) such as lead times, order accuracy, and cost savings. Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, then implement strategic initiatives to enhance supply chain resilience and responsiveness.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all supply chain activities adhere to hospital policies, procurement procedures, and regulatory requirements, including healthcare standards and safety protocols. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to mitigate potential disruptions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with clinical departments, finance, and senior leadership to align supply chain operations with organizational goals, ensuring that procurement decisions support patient care and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of five years of progressive experience in supply chain management, procurement, inventory control, logistics, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in the healthcare or hospital sector, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and regulatory landscape of medical supply chains.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in supply chain software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership abilities to manage teams, vendors, and stakeholders effectively.
- Certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, or Six Sigma are highly desirable but not mandatory.
