Cybersecurity Engineer
الوصف الوظيفي
Position Overview
Join Air Products, a global leader in industrial gases and energy solutions, as a Cybersecurity Engineer and contribute to one of the most ambitious and transformative projects in the world—the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project. This flagship initiative represents a groundbreaking collaboration to redefine energy sustainability and set new benchmarks in industrial innovation. As part of our dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the cybersecurity integrity of critical infrastructure, safeguarding operations, and supporting the seamless execution of this landmark project. Based in Duba, Tabuk Region, Saudi Arabia, this role offers a unique opportunity to work on a rotational schedule (8 weeks ON / 2 weeks OFF) while contributing to a project that will shape the future of clean energy.
Key Responsibilities
As the ICS Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be an integral member of the Cybersecurity Task Force, responsible for verifying and validating cyber assets to ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Your role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Client Operations, to integrate cybersecurity controls without compromising critical project milestones. Your duties will include:
- Field Verification and Compliance: Conduct thorough field verification of cyber assets to confirm adherence to cybersecurity standards, regulatory mandates, and project-specific requirements. Ensure seamless transition of project assets from design and implementation to commissioning, start-up, and final handover to the client.
- Cybersecurity Asset Management: Develop, document, and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity asset register and other essential deliverables under the guidance of the Site Cybersecurity Lead or Cybersecurity Manager. Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of all cyber assets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Organize and lead cybersecurity risk assessment exercises, implementing recommendations to mitigate risks associated with Air Products’ designs and vendor/skid package control systems. Collaborate with stakeholders to address vulnerabilities and enhance system resilience.
- Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Support: Validate critical cybersecurity measures, including firewall rules, secure remote access, endpoint hardening, asset inventory validation, access control execution, and logging protocols. Ensure all systems are secure and operational before energization.
- Technical Leadership and Coordination: Lead the development and execution of architecture, standards, and FAT/SAT/CSAT procedures. Oversee performance testing to ensure compliance with cybersecurity protocols and project objectives.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Verify and approve third-party device access requests in alignment with commissioning and start-up requirements. Coordinate with vendors and Air Products’ engineering teams to resolve punch points identified during cyber asset verification.
- Change Management and Reporting: Assist the Site Cybersecurity Lead in managing change control activities to ensure cybersecurity scope aligns with project schedules and budget constraints. Prepare weekly updates and dashboards to provide transparency and progress tracking for leadership.
- Risk Escalation and Continuous Improvement: Identify and escalate risks and opportunities to mitigate potential disruptions. Collect and report lessons learned from vendor site visits and project execution to drive continuous improvement in cybersecurity practices.
- Operational Handover Support: Facilitate the secure handover of Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity assets to operations teams, including procedures, asset inventories, and documentation to ensure long-term compliance and security.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you must possess a strong background in cybersecurity, particularly within industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT) environments. Ideal candidates will have:
- Proven experience in supporting large-scale construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and handover phases in industrial or energy sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices, including NIST, IEC 62443, and ISO 27001.
- Hands-on experience with firewall configurations, endpoint hardening, asset inventory management, and secure remote access solutions.
- Strong technical acumen in assessing and mitigating cybersecurity risks in complex environments.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and clients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rotational schedule (8 weeks ON / 2 weeks OFF) in a remote site location.
