Your Key Responsibilities

As an Environmental Engineer at Parsons, you will be entrusted with a diverse range of responsibilities designed to uphold environmental compliance and promote sustainable practices. Your core duties will include:

• Regulatory Compliance and Oversight: Develop, implement, and monitor Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) to ensure alignment with national regulations, including NCEC standards, and international frameworks.
• Environmental Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular on-site audits and inspections to assess compliance with environmental laws, evaluate contractor performance, and identify potential risks or non-conformances.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Oversee environmental monitoring programs to track air quality, noise levels, soil contamination, and wastewater discharge. Prepare detailed performance reports, incident logs, and compliance documentation for project leadership and regulatory authorities.
• Risk Mitigation and Corrective Actions: Collaborate with construction teams to evaluate submittals, method statements, and sustainability reports, ensuring eco-friendly practices are integrated into project execution. Address environmental concerns promptly and implement corrective measures to maintain compliance.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a liaison between project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies, providing expert guidance on environmental best practices and advocating for sustainable solutions.

Your Professional Profile

To excel in this role, you will bring a blend of education, experience, and technical expertise. We are seeking candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with an environmental focus, Environmental Science, or a related field. Professional certifications such as LEED, IEMA, or equivalent are highly desirable and will set you apart.
• Experience: A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in environmental engineering and compliance, with a proven track record in mega-infrastructure or large-scale land development projects. Your expertise should encompass environmental impact assessments (EIA), waste management strategies, and pollution control technologies.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian environmental laws and regulations, particularly those governed by the National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC), is essential. Familiarity with international standards and frameworks will further enhance your ability to drive compliance and sustainability.
• Communication and Language Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English are required, with the ability to prepare clear, technically precise reports and engage confidently with stakeholders. Proficiency in Arabic is a valuable asset and will facilitate seamless collaboration in the region.
