Position Overview

As a Sustainability Officer at Six Senses Southern Dunes Red Sea, you will play a pivotal role in upholding and advancing the resort’s commitment to wellness, sustainability, and exceptional guest experiences. Core Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for driving sustainability initiatives while fostering a culture of responsibility and innovation within the team. Your duties will encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including:

• Sustainability Leadership: Implement and oversee environmental protection directives, ensuring minimal waste, responsible purchasing, and eco-friendly packaging. Maintain a harmonious balance between operational efficiency and environmental preservation, while respecting local cultural and natural surroundings.
• Wellness Integration: Actively participate in and safeguard the resort’s wellness philosophy, including Mission Wellness activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate wellness principles into guest experiences and operational practices.
• Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, schools, government departments, and tourism associations. Develop and execute sustainability-focused projects and educational initiatives to foster community involvement and support.
• Innovation and Compliance: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to continuously improve sustainability offerings. Ensure rigorous adherence to LQA (Leading Quality Assurance) standards through regular assessments and documentation of all sustainability projects and initiatives.
• Team Collaboration: Lead monthly sustainable host events designed to engage and inspire the team, fostering a culture of sustainability. Assist in connecting the property with globally recognized sustainability events, such as Earth Day, World Ocean’s Day, and Global Shoreline Clean-Up, to enhance guest and host participation.
• Operational Excellence: Maintain high standards of personal appearance, grooming, and hygiene, while ensuring all safety, security, and emergency procedures are followed in accordance with brand and statutory requirements. Facilitate clear and effective communication between departments to support seamless property operations.
• Strategic Partnerships: Work closely with marketing, sales, and public relations teams to develop and execute strategies that align with revenue generation and profile-raising initiatives. Ensure all sustainability activities are conducted ethically, transparently, and in compliance with local laws.
• Reporting and Documentation: Accurately complete all corporate reporting requirements and attend designated meetings and briefings as instructed. Perform additional duties as assigned by senior leadership to support the sustainability agenda.
