Your Role and Responsibilities

As a BIM Design Engineer at Parsons, you will be responsible for leading the development, coordination, and validation of sophisticated Building Information Modeling (BIM) frameworks for large-scale infrastructure assets. Your expertise will ensure that projects are delivered efficiently, with clash-free models that minimize risks and streamline future operations. Key responsibilities include:

• BIM Design and Modeling: Develop, modify, and manage high-quality 3D models across multiple disciplines, from conceptual design through to As-Built documentation. Ensure strict adherence to project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and industry best practices.
• Clash Detection and Resolution: Lead the federation of multi-disciplinary models and conduct comprehensive clash-detection workshops using advanced coordination tools. Proactively identify and resolve design conflicts to prevent costly rework in the field.
• Standards and Quality Assurance: Audit incoming model data from sub-contractors and stakeholders to enforce strict compliance with Level of Development (LOD) standards (LOD 300 to 500), ensuring data accuracy, geometric integrity, and metadata consistency.
• Design Engineering Support: Perform engineering calculations, prepare detailed layouts, and generate precise shop drawings, schedules, and quantity take-offs directly from the coordinated BIM model. Provide critical support to project teams in delivering accurate and actionable design documentation.
• Digital Workflow Integration: Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and client representatives to seamlessly integrate BIM data into Asset Management systems and digital twin frameworks. Facilitate the transition of digital models into operational tools that enhance long-term project sustainability.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a blend of technical expertise, industry experience, and a commitment to excellence. Parsons seeks candidates with the following qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in engineering design and BIM implementation, with a proven track record on complex infrastructure or mega-scale building projects. Experience in the Middle East, particularly within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is highly advantageous.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Professional certification in BIM Management or coordination (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional, BIM Manager certification) is strongly preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced expertise in industry-standard BIM software, including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, Civil 3D, and BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud. Familiarity with ISO 19650 standards and parametric modeling tools such as Dynamo or Python is a significant asset.
• Location and Adaptability: Willingness to relocate to and work full-time in the Tabuk region. Prior experience with the stringent BIM delivery requirements of KSA giga-projects (e.g., NEOM, Trojena, Oxagon, or Red Sea Global) is highly desirable.
• Communication and Coordination: Exceptional technical English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to drive cross-functional alignment across architecture, engineering, and construction teams. Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and resolve conflicts effectively.
