About the Role
Danone MENA is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Healthcare Nutrition Specialist (Medical Representative) to join our team in Qassim, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role within our Specialized Nutrition division, you will play a key part in expanding our brand’s market share by fostering strong, science-based relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs). Your mission will be to position Danone’s specialized nutrition solutions as the preferred choice among HCPs, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty while addressing their healthcare nutrition needs with expertise and precision.
Key Responsibilities
As a Healthcare Nutrition Specialist, you will be responsible for driving brand growth and engagement through strategic HCP interactions. Your core duties will include:
- Scientific Engagement and Relationship Building:
- Conduct regular visits to hospitals, health clinics, private clinics, and private hospitals to establish and nurture strong, evidence-based relationships with HCPs.
- Position Danone’s specialized nutrition solutions as the preferred choice among HCPs by delivering compelling, scientifically backed arguments and fostering long-term loyalty.
- Ensure all HCPs, including doctors, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and healthcare professionals, receive accurate, up-to-date information, clinical studies, and product benefits tailored to their needs.
- Organize and lead scientific audio-visual meetings to educate and engage HCPs on the advantages of our solutions.
- Area Management and Business Development:
- Identify and evaluate business opportunities within your assigned area to develop and implement strategic initiatives that unlock the region’s full potential.
- Adhere to a structured weekly call cycle in close coordination with your direct manager to maximize HCP engagement and coverage.
- Monitor competitive activities and proactively recommend counter-strategies to safeguard and enhance our market position.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of our product portfolio to confidently address inquiries, provide detailed explanations, and distribute accurate product information and handouts.
- Follow up on customer queries and complaints to ensure timely resolution and maintain high levels of satisfaction.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Review and align business plans with quarterly objectives in collaboration with the Head of KSA to ensure strategic alignment and performance tracking.
- Compile and submit detailed reports on promotional activities in accordance with established formats and deadlines.
- Ensure all business activities comply with the WHO and local government ethical guidelines for infant formula products.
- Organize and participate in seminars and nutrition education activities to raise awareness and drive adoption of our solutions.
- Manage daily database activities and adhere to all administrative procedures and processes to maintain operational efficiency.
- Achieve and exceed assigned qualitative and quantitative key performance indicators (KPIs) on a daily, monthly, and annual basis.
- Team Collaboration and Intelligence Gathering:
- Participate in daily and weekly meetings to discuss market trends, challenges, and performance against monthly KPIs, fostering a collaborative and solution-oriented team environment.
- Support the planning and execution of seminars and events to enhance HCP engagement and brand visibility.
- Collect and analyze intelligence on the HCP landscape, including identifying new contacts and mapping decision-making networks within the region.
- Monitor competitor activities, including consumer offers, medical conferences, and roundtables, and report findings to management to inform strategic decisions.
- Conduct face-to-face medical detailing calls and maintain ongoing contact with targeted HCPs across your defined geographical area.
- Update and maintain competitive intelligence databases to ensure accurate and actionable insights are available for the team.
- Record and report on call visits and progress against set objectives to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Attend and actively participate in internal meetings as required to align on goals and strategies.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or Dietetics.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare or nutrition-related field.
- Prior experience in the nutrition sector is highly advantageous, as is familiarity with primary healthcare centers.
