Position Overview
Join Air Products, a global leader in industrial gases, performance materials, and clean energy technologies, where we empower our teams to reimagine what’s possible. By fostering an inclusive culture where every voice is valued, we drive innovation that propels humanity forward—from enabling space exploration to advancing lifesaving medical care and constructing world-scale production facilities. As an NGHP IT/DT Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our operational technology (OT), industrial control systems (ICS), and digital transformation (DT) environments. Your expertise will ensure the implementation, validation, and continuous improvement of robust cybersecurity controls, protecting our critical infrastructure and supporting the seamless execution of our most ambitious projects.
Key Responsibilities
In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute and validate cybersecurity measures across Air Products’ global sites. Your responsibilities will span technical execution, compliance documentation, and stakeholder coordination, with a focus on the following areas:
- Technical Cybersecurity Execution:
- Support the implementation, validation, and documentation of cybersecurity controls across Global Hydrogen Energy (GHE) site systems, OT/ICS environments, industrial networks, and supporting DT infrastructure.
- Assist in cyber site acceptance testing (SAT) activities, including preparation, execution support, evidence capture, defect logging, issue tracking, and closeout documentation.
- Collect, validate, and organize proof-of-compliance documentation, ensuring alignment with Air Products’ standards, NCA/HCIS expectations, and approved architectures.
- Review cybersecurity evidence related to network diagrams, system architecture, firewall rules, hardening standards, access control matrices, asset inventories, SIEM/monitoring configurations, and vendor compliance deliverables.
- Support cyber hygiene initiatives with third-party vendors, subcontractors, and site teams to maintain a secure operational environment.
- Track and facilitate the remediation of cybersecurity gaps, Cyber SAT findings, Cyber Risk Assessment recommendations, and vendor documentation deficiencies.
- OT/ICS and Site Technical Support:
- Participate in OT/ICS cybersecurity activities, including system hardening, firewall configuration reviews, password management standards, secure remote access controls, endpoint/security tooling validation, DMZ implementation support, and network segmentation verification.
- Conduct walkthroughs, field verifications, technical reviews, and cybersecurity control validation activities to ensure adherence to security policies and project requirements.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor deliverables for compliance with project cybersecurity requirements, Air Products’ standards, and external regulatory expectations.
- Collaborate with process controls, DT infrastructure, plant computing, and vendor teams to resolve cybersecurity issues impacting commissioning, start-up, or handover readiness.
- Document technical decisions, implementation status, deviations, risk acceptance items, compensating controls, and open action items to maintain transparency and accountability.
- Compliance Documentation and Evidence Management:
- Collect, organize, and maintain technical cybersecurity evidence required for proof of compliance and regulatory readiness assessments.
- Support the preparation of Cyber Security Assessment Tool (CSAT) and Proof of Compliance (POC) documentation packages for review by the Cyber Lead, OT Cybersecurity, DT, NGHC, and external assessors.
- Ensure documentation is complete, technically accurate, consistent, and traceable to applicable requirements, including Air Products’ policies and industry standards.
- Address and respond to NGHC comments, third-party assessor findings, and follow-up requests related to cybersecurity evidence.
- Maintain accurate trackers for cyber issues, documentation gaps, evidence status, and remediation actions to support audit readiness and continuous improvement.
- Vendor and Third-Party Support:
- Coordinate with cybersecurity vendors, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) subcontractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and external implementation partners during onsite execution, testing, and documentation activities.
- Support external partners responsible for cybersecurity solution implementation, testing, documentation, and transition support to ensure seamless integration with Air Products’ environments.
- Review vendor-submitted evidence and escalate incomplete, inconsistent, or non-compliant documentation to the Cyber Lead for resolution.
- Supervise third-party activities onsite, validating that field work aligns with approved cyber design and project requirements to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Coordination and Reporting:
- Provide regular status updates to the Cyber Lead on technical progress, blockers, risks, documentation gaps, and open actions to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Participate in weekly coordination meetings with OT Cybersecurity, DT, site project management, and other cybersecurity stakeholders to align on priorities and address challenges.
- Support the preparation of concise technical updates for leadership and project teams, highlighting key cybersecurity risks, mitigation strategies, and compliance status.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to cybersecurity excellence. Ideal candidates will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on OT/ICS environments, industrial networks, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443, ISO 27001), and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools, including SIEM solutions, vulnerability management platforms, and network security technologies.
- Familiarity with system hardening, firewall configuration, network segmentation, and secure remote access controls in OT/ICS environments.
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex evidence packages and compliance artifacts.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across global teams.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
