As an IT Infrastructure Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity, security, and operational excellence across our facilities. Key Responsibilities
In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for the following core duties and responsibilities:
- Structured Cabling Management: Ensure proper cable management, labeling, and compliance with industry standards and Air Products’ DT/IT guidelines. Supervise the installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optics, for data, voice, and CCTV applications.
- Fiber Optic and Network Testing: Conduct fiber optic cable testing using OTDR and Fluke equipment, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with project requirements. Verify the integrity of communication cables and inspect installations to meet specified standards.
- IT Room and Equipment Management: Design and manage IT room layouts, including cabinet organization, equipment mounting, and cable management. Maintain detailed documentation and labeling to support operational efficiency and troubleshooting.
- Vendor and Contractor Coordination: Manage relationships with IT contractors, vendors, and external parties to ensure seamless delivery of DT infrastructure and support services. Collaborate with the DT Project team to facilitate the installation and configuration of DMZ environments.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and resolve issues related to damaged or faulty cabling, connectors, and network drops. Provide timely remediation to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Perform all site activities in strict adherence to health and safety standards. Execute assigned tasks in compliance with Safety Work Permit requirements and develop Job Safety Analysis/Risk Assessments for assigned projects.
- Temporary IT Infrastructure Setup: Establish and manage temporary IT infrastructure, including network cabling, wireless access points, and VPN connections, to support project deployments and site activities.
- Collaborative Support: Provide local coordination for issue remediation and deployments, working closely with remote DIS teams, particularly in network and wireless services. Offer local IT support and maintain IT standards, including safety protocols for IT rooms within your area of responsibility.
- Industrial Control Systems Support: Provide technical support for industrial control systems at the site, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and industry best practices.
- Network Hardware Upgrades: Execute network hardware upgrades and installations for Maintain Viability projects where Network Technical Support is not directly involved, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, Office/365, SCEP/Windows Firewall, and virtual desktop infrastructure (Citrix) is essential.
Education and Experience
Candidates for this role should meet the following qualifications:
- A degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, along with specialized training, certifications, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in desktop support or other IT infrastructure roles, with a strong understanding of network connectivity and troubleshooting.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Desirable skills include familiarity with Industrial Control Systems (ICS), knowledge of IT infrastructure tools and services (networks, servers, security, voice), and experience working with strategic vendors and third-party service providers.
