We are seeking a highly organised, professional, and warm-hearted Housekeeper to join our private family home in the heart of St Peter Port, Guernsey. This is a full-time position offering a unique opportunity to become an integral part of a busy but welcoming household. The ideal candidate will be experienced in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and home management while fostering a nurturing environment for our two young children and our small, friendly dog. About the Household

Our household consists of two working adults in their 40s and 50s, two daughters aged 4 and 7, and a small, well-behaved dog. Both children attend school from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, allowing for a structured daily routine. We value a warm, family-oriented atmosphere while maintaining a level of formality during social or professional engagements. Our home is a place where comfort, cleanliness, and organisation are paramount, and we are looking for a Housekeeper who shares these values.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses a wide range of duties designed to ensure our home remains a pristine and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include:

• Housekeeping & Home Management: Daily cleaning and upkeep of all living spaces, including deep cleaning as required. This involves thorough cleaning of bathrooms, floors, windows, and other surfaces to maintain immaculate standards. Additionally, the role includes making beds daily, changing bed linen weekly, and ensuring towels are refreshed on a weekly basis.
• Laundry & Wardrobe Organisation: Managing all laundry duties, including washing, ironing, and organising clothing for both adults and children. This also extends to maintaining an orderly wardrobe system and ensuring seasonal clothing is appropriately stored.
• Kitchen & Household Support: Preparing nutritious meals for the family, including children’s meals, and ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and well-organised. This includes grocery shopping or running local errands as needed, as well as maintaining an orderly fridge and pantry to ensure freshness and efficiency.
• External Duties: Maintaining the cleanliness of outdoor spaces, including the terrace and ground-floor windows. Additional responsibilities may include cleaning the family car and boat to ensure they remain in pristine condition.
• Additional Duties: Providing occasional pet care, such as feeding the dog, and offering light childcare or supervision when required. This may also include assisting with dinner parties, organising events, or providing babysitting services on occasion. There may also be opportunities to travel to family properties in London, Sweden, or Greece, depending on the needs of the household.

Essential Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• A warm, child-friendly personality with a genuine enjoyment of working within a family environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation.
• Proven experience as a professional Housekeeper in a private household, with a track record of delivering exceptional service.
• Confident cooking and meal preparation skills, with the ability to cater to both adults and children.
• Strong spoken and written English skills to facilitate clear communication within the household and with external service providers.
• High levels of organisation, trustworthiness, and discretion, with the ability to work independently while maintaining open lines of communication with the family.

Desirable Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following attributes would be advantageous:

• A valid driving licence to assist with local errands and transportation needs.
• Prior experience working in family homes with children, demonstrating an understanding of child-friendly environments.

Work Schedule & Environment

This is a full-time position, requiring availability from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility is essential to accommodate occasional evening or weekend duties, such as dinner parties or travel to other family properties. The role involves working independently within the household, with coordination with a part-time nanny who handles afternoon school runs and after-school activities. The environment is warm and family-oriented, though a more formal tone is maintained during social or professional engagements.
