Network & IT Support Specialist

About the Role

We are a leading Saudi-based investment company seeking a dedicated and proactive Network & IT Support Specialist to assume full ownership of our internal IT infrastructure. This is a hands-on position where you will play a critical role in ensuring the security, stability, and efficiency of our small-scale systems. You will provide comprehensive support for both server room operations and end-user requirements, working independently while collaborating closely with the IT Manager and external service providers as needed.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following core functions:

• Server & System Management: Install, configure, and maintain our Windows Server environment, ensuring regular updates, user management, and robust system security.
• Active Directory Administration: Oversee Active Directory for account setup, access control, and group policy enforcement to maintain a secure and organized IT environment.
• Data Protection & Backup Management: Implement and manage immutable backup routines, conduct regular recovery tests, and ensure comprehensive data protection measures are in place.
• Microsoft 365 Administration: Support and manage Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams. Handle user provisioning, licensing, and access policies through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Azure AD.
• Troubleshooting & User Support: Diagnose and resolve Office 365 issues, provide basic training and support to employees, and assist with software and hardware-related challenges.
• Network Infrastructure Maintenance: Manage and support our network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and VPN tunnels to ensure seamless connectivity.
• Server Room Oversight: Maintain the physical server room setup, including UPS systems, cooling solutions, rack equipment, and cabling to optimize performance and reliability.
• Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external vendors for firmware upgrades, technical escalations, and specialized support to maintain system integrity.
• General IT Support: Provide comprehensive IT support to staff, including laptop setup, troubleshooting, software installation, and hardware procurement to enhance productivity.
• Security Systems Management: Maintain and support CCTV systems, IP telephony (Grandstream PBX), and access control devices (BioStar) to ensure a secure operational environment.
• IT Security Compliance: Assist in upholding IT security best practices and adhering to internal data protection guidelines to safeguard company assets.

Qualifications & Experience

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in IT support or system/network administration.
• Proven expertise in:
• Microsoft 365 administration, including user management, licensing, Exchange, and Teams.
• Windows Server and Active Directory management.
• Networking technologies such as firewalls, switches, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP.
• Backup systems and troubleshooting methodologies.
• IP telephony, CCTV, and access control hardware.
• Familiarity with platforms such as Aruba, Fortinet, or Grandstream is highly desirable.
• Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft 365 Associate, Fortinet NSE, or CompTIA Network+/Security+, are a plus.
