Director Portfolio Controls & Change Management

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Portfolio Controls & Change Management to lead the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of Commercial Controls, Change Management, Reporting & Consolidation, Cost Systems, Governance, Procedures, and function-specific Document Control activities across our SEVEN portfolio. This senior leadership position is pivotal in driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance, and fostering a high-performing controls environment that supports seamless project delivery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to portfolio reporting, project controls governance, cost management systems, baseline and non-baseline change management, commercial assurance, process development, document control, training, and capability development. By delivering accurate, timely, and transparent performance information, this role will empower informed decision-making at project, programme, portfolio, and executive levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Management: Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to a high-performing team responsible for Commercial Controls, Reporting, Change Management, and Document Control. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.

• Strategic Development & Governance: Partner with the Executive Director to define and implement the strategic roadmap for the function. Develop and execute annual objectives, improvement initiatives, and operational plans. Establish and monitor functional KPIs to drive performance excellence.

• Commercial Controls & Assurance: Act as the custodian of portfolio cost data, reporting processes, and change governance. Ensure compliance with approved policies, procedures, and delegated authorities. Lead assurance reviews to verify adherence to controls and reporting requirements across all projects.

• Reporting & Portfolio Consolidation: Oversee all portfolio reporting activities, including Monthly Status Reports, Executive Reports, Dashboards, and Portfolio Performance Reports. Consolidate project cost, commercial, and performance data into cohesive portfolio-level outputs. Analyze trends, forecasts, variances, risks, and opportunities to provide actionable insights for executive decision-making.

• Cost Management Systems & Data Governance: Serve as the business owner for Aconex Connected Cost and related project controls systems. Lead the implementation, enhancement, and optimization of cost management systems. Drive automation initiatives, system integrations, and data integrity improvements to ensure consistent, high-quality portfolio reporting.

• Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Represent SEVEN in all commercial controls, reporting, and governance interactions with internal and external stakeholders, including Projects (Delivery & Development), Finance, Procurement, PMC’s, CMC’s, and Contractors. Promote a
