Associate Director, Restructuring

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Director, Restructuring to join our dynamic team at Alvarez & Marsal in Riyadh. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in leading and executing complex restructuring engagements, driving operational improvements, and delivering sustainable financial solutions for our clients across diverse industries. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial advisory, corporate restructuring, and turnaround management, with a proven ability to navigate high-pressure environments and deliver measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

The Associate Director, Restructuring will be responsible for the following core duties:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive restructuring strategies tailored to the unique needs of each client, ensuring alignment with their long-term business objectives.
• Financial Analysis & Modeling: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity assessments, and scenario modeling, to identify critical issues and recommend actionable solutions.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with senior management, creditors, investors, and legal teams to facilitate negotiations, restructure debt agreements, and secure necessary approvals for restructuring plans.
• Operational Turnaround: Lead cross-functional teams to execute operational improvements, cost optimization initiatives, and business transformation programs aimed at enhancing profitability and sustainability.
• Client Engagement & Business Development: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic insights and recommendations to support their financial recovery and growth objectives. Additionally, contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and fostering long-term client relationships.
• Reporting & Compliance: Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and financial models to communicate progress, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Team Mentorship & Development: Mentor junior team members, provide guidance on complex restructuring matters, and foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An MBA, CFA, or other advanced degree is highly desirable.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in financial advisory, restructuring, or turnaround management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and restructuring software. Strong command of Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of corporate finance, insolvency laws, and restructuring frameworks, with experience across multiple sectors such as real estate, energy, healthcare, or manufacturing.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CPA, CA, or ACCA are a plus.
