Position Overview
Stryker, a global leader in medical technology dedicated to enhancing patient care, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Territory Lead for Trauma & Extremities in the South/West region. This field-based sales position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with surgeons, healthcare professionals, and hospital stakeholders to advance clinical excellence while driving commercial success. As a key member of our Orthopaedics team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative Trauma & Extremities solutions that improve patient outcomes and support healthcare providers in your assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Relationship Building: Develop and nurture long-term relationships with surgeons, healthcare professionals, purchasing teams, and key decision-makers to expand market share and drive business growth within your territory.
- Territory Management: Execute comprehensive sales strategies and achieve regional targets in alignment with Stryker’s business objectives, ensuring consistent performance and market penetration.
- Customer Engagement & Education: Conduct regular customer visits, product demonstrations, and clinical presentations to address healthcare provider needs, facilitate product adoption, and enhance clinical confidence in Stryker’s Trauma & Extremities portfolio.
- Product & Tender Support: Evaluate customer requirements and provide tailored product recommendations for commercial opportunities and tenders, ensuring accurate and timely submissions to secure business.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with tender, finance, logistics, and customer service teams to streamline project execution, resolve customer inquiries, and ensure high levels of satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.
- Clinical Expertise & Support: Deliver product installations, conduct post-sales training, and provide on-site support during surgical procedures as the clinical expert for Stryker’s Trauma & Extremities solutions.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitive activities, product developments, and regulatory changes, and deliver actionable insights to management to inform strategic decision-making.
- Customer Feedback & Continuous Improvement: Capture and communicate customer feedback, complaints, and business insights, driving timely resolutions and contributing to product and service enhancements.
Qualifications & Requirements
To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Medical Sciences, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of one year in a commercial sales role, such as Territory Lead, Sales Representative, or equivalent, with at least one year of experience in the Medical Devices industry.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in Orthopedics, including Trauma, Joint Replacement, Sports Medicine, Spine, or related specialties.
- Professional Skills: Professional proficiency in English and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Mobility: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently within the South/West territory to support customer engagements, training, and surgical case coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following experience will strengthen your candidacy:
- Hands-on experience supporting surgical procedures and providing clinical product training to healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with hospital procurement processes, tenders, or healthcare purchasing stakeholders.
Position Details
This is an individual contributor role with a high degree of autonomy and accountability. As a field-based position, you will operate from your residence within the South/West territory, ensuring deep engagement with local healthcare providers. The role requires frequent travel to conduct customer visits, attend industry congresses, participate in customer events, and engage in clinical education activities.
