Position Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and seasoned Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant to strengthen our finance team. The successful candidate will bring a robust accounting background with a focus on receivables management, ideally within the real estate sector, and a deep understanding of IFRS and VAT regulations. This role demands precision, analytical acumen, and the ability to ensure financial compliance while optimizing cash flow and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
The AR Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the company’s receivables portfolio, ensuring operational efficiency and financial integrity. Core duties include:
- Receivables Management: Oversee and process accounts receivable transactions with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness, including the preparation and issuance of invoices to clients. Proactively follow up on outstanding payments to minimize delinquencies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to REGA requirements for off-plan sales and real estate escrow accounts, as well as compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and VAT regulations in Saudi Arabia. Maintain meticulous records to support audit trails and financial reporting.
- Account Reconciliation & Discrepancy Resolution: Reconcile customer accounts regularly, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial records. Analyze aging reports to assess collection performance and collaborate with internal teams to implement corrective actions.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as a liaison between operations, project management, and finance teams to ensure timely collection of project progress installments. Facilitate seamless communication to align financial objectives with project milestones.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with Real Estate Investment Traded Funds (REITs), REGA “Wafi”, and banking partners. Ensure all project instructions and compliance requirements from these stakeholders are met without exception.
- Audit Support: Provide comprehensive documentation and support during internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and adherence to regulatory standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years in an accounts receivable or similar financial role, with a preference for candidates with experience in the real estate industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets, pivot tables, and financial models. Familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of VAT regulations in Saudi Arabia and a solid grasp of IFRS principles.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy are non-negotiable.
