About the Role

Hexagon Autonomous Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Project Engineer I to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of technical projects within the mining systems domain. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Engineer I will bridge engineering expertise with project management, guiding projects from initial design and implementation through testing and final handover. Responsibilities include developing comprehensive project plans, managing resources, monitoring progress, mitigating risks, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for success in this position.

Scope of Responsibilities

The Project Engineer I will serve as a technical authority with a broad understanding of mining systems and their deployment. This role requires acting as a point of escalation for technical challenges raised by the team, working collaboratively to resolve issues beyond the scope of individual contributors. The position involves close collaboration with Project Managers to optimize the deployment of mining systems, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution. Key responsibilities include:

• Project Deployment: Actively participate in the hands-on deployment of complex mining solutions, ensuring efficient and effective implementation.
• System Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for software systems, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Customization and Configuration: Deliver bespoke customizations as required, own customer system configurations, and implement modifications using scripting tools.
• Onsite Installation: Contribute to onsite system installation efforts, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
• Complex Problem Solving: Address intricate technical challenges involving multiple integrated systems, providing innovative solutions.
• Stakeholder Communication: Ensure relevant stakeholders are informed of risks, issues, and technical solutions deployed to customer sites. Escalate critical issues requiring input from other teams, such as Mining Services or supporting representatives.
• Technical Knowledge Maintenance: Stay abreast of current and upcoming product offerings, as well as emerging strategies and technologies in systems support through industry engagement and professional development.
• Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular updates on project status, issues, and resolution methods. Maintain and enhance Hexagon’s documentation and reporting standards, systems, and processes.
• Collaboration with Sales: Work closely with the sales team in a pre-sales capacity, including attending and leading technical presentations to support customer engagements.
• Professional Representation: Uphold Hexagon Mining’s brand and reputation by representing the company in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner at all times.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere to Hexagon Mining’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, participate in audits, and comply with all safety instructions to ensure the well-being of oneself and others.
