As a Google Cloud Principal Engineer at C-9ine, you will play a pivotal role in empowering start-ups and corporations to achieve their technological ambitions by leveraging the full potential of Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-native solutions that accelerate technical deployment, enhance security, and ensure compliance while reducing time-to-market barriers. Your Mission

Your primary responsibility will be to architect, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions on GCP. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and project managers, to deliver world-class software that meets the highest standards of quality, security, and compliance. By automating infrastructure and processes, you will enable our clients to focus on innovation while we handle the complexities of cloud operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in transforming our clients’ visions into reality, from fintech platforms to national communications infrastructure and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Architecture & Strategy: Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure cloud architectures on GCP, ensuring alignment with best practices for performance, cost optimization, and compliance.
• DevSecOps & Automation: Lead the adoption of DevSecOps principles, including continuous compliance frameworks, secure coding practices, and automated security testing. Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab Ultimate, Terraform, and Ansible to streamline deployments and reduce manual intervention.
• Kubernetes & Microservices: Develop and manage Kubernetes-based microservices architectures, leveraging service meshes and containerization technologies (Docker) to ensure high availability and scalability. Experience with private/public cloud Kubernetes deployments is highly desirable.
• Monitoring & Observability: Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stack, and APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace) to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact performance.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure adherence to CIS benchmarks, secure coding standards, and compliance frameworks. Manage secrets and configuration using tools like HashiCorp Vault and implement robust identity and access management (IAM) policies.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with development teams to provide guidance on cloud-native best practices, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor junior engineers. Your proactive communication and problem-solving skills will be critical in fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously analyze and optimize cloud resources, applications, and infrastructure to ensure maximum efficiency, uptime, and cost-effectiveness. Experience with scaling web applications and managing 24/7/365 operations is essential.
• Tooling & Technology Stack: Utilize a range of tools within the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) landscape, including Git for source control, Jenkins or Concourse-CI for CI/CD, and Atlassian tools (JIRA/Confluence) for project management. Familiarity with Java, Node.js, Python, and scripting languages (Bash/Shell) is a plus.

Your Ideal Profile

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Google Cloud Principal Engineer with a proven track record in enterprise cloud engineering, DevOps, and DevSecOps. You should possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably one of the hyper-scalers (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI), and a deep understanding of cloud-native principles. Your expertise in automation, configuration management, and Kubernetes will be instrumental in driving our cloud initiatives forward.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

• Technical Proficiency: Strong background in Linux/Unix system administration, cloud infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, Chef), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) is highly desirable.
• Problem-Solving & Innovation: A proactive, analytical mindset with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and resolving complex technical challenges. You should be comfortable working in a CLI-driven environment and possess a passion for finding elegant, scalable solutions.
