Position Overview: Gen AI Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Gen AI Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge computer vision and generative AI solutions that drive innovation and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in deep learning, computer vision, and real-time AI deployment, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into scalable, production-ready systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and domain experts, to deliver high-impact AI solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Development & Optimization: Design, develop, and deploy advanced computer vision models, including CNNs, YOLO architectures, Auto-Encoders, Vision-Language Models (VLMs), and OCR systems, to process and analyze real-time video streams and images with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Real-Time AI Deployment: Build and optimize deep learning pipelines for real-time inference, leveraging GPU acceleration, model quantization, and edge computing techniques to ensure low-latency performance in production environments.
  • Data Annotation & Curation: Collaborate with data engineering teams to establish robust data annotation pipelines using tools such as Label Studio or CVAT. Clean, preprocess, and augment large-scale vision datasets to enhance model training and validation processes.
  • Model Fine-Tuning & Training: Fine-tune and train YOLO, VLM, and OCR models (e.g., Paddle OCR) for specialized applications, including text detection, recognition, object detection, tracking, segmentation, and scene understanding in both static and dynamic visual data.
  • Scalable AI Infrastructure: Deploy AI models using NVIDIA DeepStream SDK for multi-stream video processing, Docker for containerization, and microservices architecture to ensure scalability, reliability, and seamless integration into existing systems.
  • API & Backend Development: Develop and maintain FastAPI-based microservices for model inference, enabling efficient integration with downstream applications and systems. Ensure robust API documentation, performance monitoring, and error handling.
  • Performance Optimization & Feedback Loops: Continuously evaluate model performance through experimentation, A/B testing, and user feedback, implementing iterative improvements to enhance accuracy, speed, and robustness.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align AI solutions with business objectives. Maintain comprehensive documentation for models, pipelines, and deployment processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

Technical & Functional Requirements

  • Programming & Frameworks: Proficiency in Python with hands-on experience in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or PaddlePaddle. Strong familiarity with YOLO models, including training, fine-tuning, and deployment.
  • Computer Vision Expertise: In-depth knowledge of CNNs, Auto-Encoders, Vision-Language Models (VLMs), and OCR frameworks (e.g., Paddle OCR) for text detection and recognition in images and video frames.
  • Real-Time AI & Edge Computing: Experience with edge computing, GPU optimization, and model quantization techniques to deploy AI models efficiently in real-time environments. Familiarity with NVIDIA DeepStream SDK for multi-stream video processing and inference acceleration is highly desirable.
  • Data & Annotation Tools: Experience with data preprocessing, augmentation, and pipeline design for vision tasks. Proficiency in using annotation tools such as Label Studio or CVAT to manage and clean annotated datasets.
  • DevOps & MLOps: Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and MLOps best practices for vision systems, including model versioning, deployment automation, and monitoring. Experience with Docker for containerization and FastAPI for backend services is essential.
  • Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges in fast-paced environments. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with global, cross-functional teams.
