Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Steward to join our esteemed team at W Hotels in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this full-time, non-management role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency within our Food and Beverage & Culinary departments. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of duties, from operating and maintaining cleaning equipment to ensuring the proper storage and rotation of perishable goods. Key Responsibilities

As a Steward, your primary duties will include:

• Equipment and Tool Maintenance: Operate and maintain essential cleaning equipment, such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors, ensuring they function optimally at all times.
• Cleaning and Sanitization: Wash and disinfect kitchen and storage room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Utilize detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes thoroughly. Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, and ensure soiled items are re-scrubbed and re-washed as necessary. Rack and spray all racked items with hot water to remove food residue effectively.
• Inventory Management: Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock to maintain freshness and compliance with food safety standards. Ensure clean wares are stored in designated areas to facilitate easy access and organization.
• Waste Management: Break down dirty bus tubs, empty and maintain trashcans and dumpster areas, and dispose of glass in the appropriate containers. Break down cardboard boxes and place them, along with other recyclables, in the designated recycle bin to promote sustainability.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company policies, safety protocols, and security procedures. Report any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to management promptly. Complete all required safety training and certifications to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Team Collaboration: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members to support common goals and foster a collaborative work environment. Communicate clearly and professionally with others to ensure seamless operations.
• Physical Demands: Perform job duties that may require moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and reach overhead or below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping as needed.
• Additional Duties: Fulfill other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors to support the overall success of the department and the hotel.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Work Experience: Prior related work experience is not mandatory, as full training will be provided.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is necessary for this entry-level position.
• Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are required to apply.
