Key Responsibilities

The Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of financial and accounting duties to support the branch’s operations and financial reporting. Core responsibilities include:

• Account Management: Accurately record all deposits and transfers in customer accounts, ensuring real-time updates and maintaining the integrity of financial records.
• Receivables Monitoring: Proactively follow up on collections for accounts without invoice details, in coordination with the supervisor. Monitor daily aging receivable balances and generate reports highlighting blocked customers whose balances have reached their credit limits, ensuring timely intervention.
• Credit Control: Collaborate with supervisors and branch managers to follow up on collections for blocked customers or those nearing their credit limits. Obtain 100% balance confirmations for the branch annually and reconcile these balances with internal records as per the list provided by the Head Office Credit Controller.
• Invoice and Collection Management: Record collections and clear outstanding invoices, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records. Conduct monthly stock counts and perform additional counts as requested by management to support inventory accuracy.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and provide monthly statements of accounts for all customers, ensuring these are stamped by customers as acknowledgment. Generate daily receivable aging reports for the branch manager and supervisors, highlighting credit terms and utilization percentages for each customer’s credit limit.
• Cash and Invoice Compliance: Ensure cash clearing and customer account reconciliations are completed on a weekly basis. Monitor and report credit invoices that lack customer stamps, escalating these to the branch manager and line manager for resolution. Verify that all credit invoices are properly stamped or signed with a mobile number for authentication.
• Documentation and Archiving: Scan and archive all invoices on a daily basis once the archiving system is activated, ensuring compliance with record-keeping standards.
• Audit and Compliance Support: Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including weekends and holidays, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Record and reconcile petty cash expenses to maintain transparency and control over small expenditures.
• Ad-Hoc Duties: Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned by management to support business needs and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the necessary skills:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Financial Acumen: Strong ability to interpret and analyze financial statements, periodicals, and data to support decision-making and financial planning.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced fluency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with a focus on Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Professional Membership: Active membership in the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA), demonstrating a commitment to professional standards and continuous learning.
