Key Responsibilities

The Lead Electrical Engineer will play a central role in the execution and oversight of electrical works, with responsibilities including:

• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Monitor electrical works to ensure strict adherence to contract documents, specifications, and the company’s procedures manual, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Technical Review and Approval: Review, approve, and process all Extra Low Voltage (ELV) and Information Technology (IT) technical submittals, ensuring they meet project requirements and regulatory standards.
• RFI Management: Prepare preliminary responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) related to electrical works, providing clear and timely solutions to contractors and stakeholders.
• Pre-Installation Coordination: Supervise and coordinate pre-installation activities for electrical systems, ensuring proper planning and execution to minimize delays and discrepancies.
• Change Order Evaluation: Review contractor-submitted change order proposals, analyze their impact, and prepare well-founded recommendations for the Senior Electrical Engineer to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a liaison with sub-consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Claims Assessment: Assist in reviewing contractor claims related to electrical works, providing detailed evaluations and recommendations to mitigate risks and resolve disputes.
• Documentation and Inspection: Support the review of project record documents, conduct inspections of completed works, and monitor start-up, testing, commissioning, and handover processes to ensure project success.
• Sign-Off and Handover: Prepare comprehensive "sign-off" packages for completed electrical works, including all necessary documentation, for final approval by the Senior Electrical Engineer.
• Project Support: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager to ensure the successful delivery of electrical engineering services.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 14 years of professional experience in electrical or ELV engineering, with at least 3 to 5 years dedicated to construction administration in the Middle East.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong technical background in electrical works, with a deep understanding of industry standards, specifications, and authority requirements.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Software Competency: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, for documentation, analysis, and reporting.
• Analytical Abilities: Capacity to review and comment on technical documentation with precision, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Project Lifecycle Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the electrical engineering discipline, from initial design and planning to installation, testing, and project handover.
