Infrastructure & Systems Security Team Lead

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure & Systems Security Team Lead to spearhead the secure, reliable, and high-performance operation of our IT infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the security, availability, and resilience of critical IT services, ensuring robust protection against threats while maintaining seamless business continuity. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing complex infrastructure components, implementing cutting-edge security controls, and driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead a dynamic team responsible for the following core functions:

Infrastructure & Cloud Operations

• Provide strategic leadership and hands-on management for IT infrastructure spanning on-premises data centers, Microsoft Azure, DEEM Cloud, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Ensure the uninterrupted availability, performance, and scalability of infrastructure services by proactively monitoring systems and addressing technical challenges that may impact service delivery.
• Oversee the maintenance and optimization of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, backup solutions, and associated technology services to uphold high availability standards.
• Enforce secure configurations and technical hardening standards across all infrastructure components to mitigate vulnerabilities and enhance resilience against cyber threats.

Network & Connectivity Management

• Lead the administration of enterprise network infrastructure, encompassing routers, switches, VLANs, MPLS, WAN connectivity, and Wi-Fi environments to ensure seamless and secure connectivity.
• Monitor network performance metrics and troubleshoot connectivity issues to maintain optimal operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Establish and maintain secure connectivity between on-premises environments, cloud platforms, internet services, and third-party providers to safeguard data integrity and service continuity.
• Provide technical support for unified communications and voice services, including Cisco Call Manager, voice gateways, and SIP connectivity, as required by business operations.

Infrastructure & Systems Security

• Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive security controls across networks, servers, endpoints, databases, cloud environments, and digital services to protect against evolving cyber threats.
• Manage and optimize infrastructure security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, web proxies, endpoint protection platforms, and secure remote access mechanisms.
• Monitor security events and alerts through advanced monitoring platforms, conducting thorough investigations to assess technical impact and prioritize incident response efforts.
• Lead incident containment strategies, facilitate service recovery, and enhance security monitoring controls to strengthen overall defense posture.

Access, Vulnerability & Security Management

• Oversee the management and periodic review of user, system, and application access controls in strict adherence to approved security policies and the principle of least privilege.
• Champion the implementation and maintenance of multi-factor authentication (MFA) and other advanced access protection mechanisms across relevant systems and services.
• Analyze vulnerability assessment results, coordinate remediation efforts, and ensure timely deployment of security patches to mitigate identified risks.
• Validate the completion and effectiveness of security updates, technical hardening measures, and corrective actions to maintain a robust security posture.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

• Support the development and execution of backup, restore, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure the resilience of critical IT services.
• Participate in and lead disaster recovery drills, failover tests, and service restoration exercises to verify operational readiness across DEEM Cloud and data center environments.
• Assess technical risks that may impact infrastructure availability and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies to safeguard business operations.

Technical Projects, Readiness & Coordination

• Provide leadership and coordination for infrastructure implementation, upgrades, and technical projects in collaboration with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and service providers.
• Conduct thorough reviews of infrastructure and security readiness prior to the deployment of new systems and services into production environments.
• Ensure that security controls are implemented without compromising system performance, connectivity, or service availability.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for technical requirements and issue resolution with technology vendors and service providers.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and present periodic operational reports detailing infrastructure availability, security incidents, vulnerability trends, risk assessments, and remediation progress to stakeholders.
• Monitor technical and security performance indicators to identify recurring issues and opportunities for operational enhancement.
• Maintain comprehensive technical and security documentation to support audit compliance, operational continuity, and future strategic initiatives.
• Recommend and implement practical improvements to infrastructure architecture, security controls, monitoring tools, and operational processes to drive efficiency and resilience.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or team lead capacity, is required. Strong expertise in cloud platforms (particularly Microsoft Azure), network security, and enterprise infrastructure is essential. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNP Security, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and a commitment to fostering a culture of security and operational excellence.
